“Top notch location with first class service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

We are very moved by not only the premium harbour view and sophisticated facility but also the hotel's first class service! Benny welcome us in such a personalized and insightful way, we are truly impressed! Being able to check in to our room so early was delightful after a relative sleepless trip; that little detail launched our trip in the best impossible way! While everyone on the staff was very professional, courteous and helpful! I will definitely come back and recommend to my colleagues for their international travels.

Room Tip: Harbourview room on low floor gives you a spectacular harbourview from waterline

Elegant hotel with spectacular views across the river to Kowloon. Loved that the registration clerk took us to our room and did the registration paper work there! The breakfast buffet was the most expansive we have ever seen, and served in a lovely dining room right at river level. Don't miss getting a foot massage at one of the many street spas in Hong Kong. They are fabulous and really cheap!

I'd rate this hotel a 4+.

I booked a room with a king bed and full (deluxe) view of the harbor. It was worth every penny – the view was amazing! The room size was quite large, as was the bathroom. The only thing that was a bit “off” was that the shower stall was pretty small – especially relative to the size of the bathroom. The room was well stocked with amenities, including a fresh fruit bowl on arrival. The gym was also a decent size with an adequate number of machines and very helpful staff. I also tried out the spa and can highly recommend the massages. (The restaurant/bar area around the outdoor pool is also a nice spot to relax for a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the hotel.) The hotel has a number of high end restaurants; I tried 3 of them – Nobu, Spoon and Yan Toh Heen. All 3 were very accommodating to someone dining alone. Personally, I thought Nobu and Yan Toh Heen were top notch, but I was disappointed in Spoon. (I would not recommend the lattes in the hotel; they were $10 and not particularly good; go to one of the Starbucks nearby instead). I also booked a driver guide for 3 hours to take a short tour of the city and would recommend using that service if you are interested in sightseeing. The guide was excellent and very willing to tailor her tour to your interests and the time you had, the driver was very professional and the vehicle was a spotless Mercedes. I used the concierge for a number of services - restaurant reservations, shopping, tours, etc. and she did an excellent job on everything.

Even if you don’t splurge for a view room, the view from the lobby lounge area of the hotel is also fantastic. So I’d recommend stopping in for a drink and just taking in the view. (You can also easily see the light show in the evening from the lounge area). Finally, the hotel location was excellent for all sorts of shopping.

Stayed here for four nights, which was a perfect stay. We very much liked the club Intercontinental lounge at the second floor, perfect views, quiet ambiance, well trained and helpful staff.

Dinner at the Japanese restaurant was an experience on its own. Relaxed, outstanding food, professional service and again nice views on the harbour and HK Island.

The hotel remains world famous due to the outstanding vista of either day or night scenes from their Harbourside restaurant location.Refered to often as the old Regent by locals the rebranding to an Intercontinental hotel happened a long time ago.Located close to the water with fabulous views of Central it is one of Hong Kong's iconic hotels.I stay here often and have done for more than a decade, the greeting is always a warm welcome and my junior suite is always made available from 8am as a Royal Ambassador member and late check out is also assured.A very sophisticated hotel catering for the elite business clients from around the world and very experienced at dealing with difficult people like myself who do not mind spending the big bucs and to receive the appropriate service, here it is guaranteed to be first class. There is a very nice Club Lounge that overlooks the people engrossed in afternoon tea and scones and those meeting with associates or old friends.Home to Ducass's the Spoon restaurant,my favourite Nobu and it's top class cuisine from Japan and not forgetting the world famous daily buffet three times a day in the Harbourside restaurant, this is literally packed every night as locals feast on the freshest seafoods and amazing curries, roast duck, roasts and much more.
In addition there is a fabulous Chinese restaurant on the premises and a steak bar with incredible wine lists. The hotel remains top of my list as over the years it has maintained a high standard and in fact has improved with age and experience. It is always a pleasure to return.
Prices for a room are high and best if booked on line through the IHG site there is no dress rules but less than casual attire is frowned upon, this is truely a fine hotel and proper attire should be a daily consideration. The room types are too numerous to mention just accept each will have all that you require for a happy stay, the best comes at a price and the old story remains you get what you pay for is very accurate. This is without a doubt my favourite hotel in Hong Kong and I have tried nearly all of them over the years and Happy to return time and time again...................................................

I first stayed at this hotel in 1987 when it was the Regent. At that time I thought it was one of the best hotels I had every experienced and that opinion still holds 25 years later and in its present incarnation as a Interconti. First of all, the staff could not be nicer and more helpful. Mistakenly, they had put us in a smoking room but fixed this in a matter of minutes. Every time I needed help with anything - luggage, business center - I found staff who really knew what they were doing and could almost predict what I needed to done. The rooms have those great bathrooms that Regents are famous for and are extremely comfortable and well laid out. The internet is fast and reliable and best of all, the view from the harborview rooms is spectacular. I would also note that they have an Alain Ducasse restaurant (Spoon) on the premises and all the bars and restaurants share that fantastic view. So even if you are staying there, drop in for a drink!

Room Tip: The harborview rooms are worth the uptick in cost.

Especially if you have had a long trip. Very efficient service and just so wonderful to be able to relax while being whisked to the hotel. At the hotel, we were met at the door by name, and taken to our room for all the check-in paperwork.
Another thing, if you are paying this kind of price, spend a little more for a room with an incomparable view.
If, like me, you do not like buffets - you can have a wonderful breakfast by the pool. It is very quiet, and the service is impeccable.
