InterContinental Hong Kong
Ranked #12 of 721 Hotels in Hong Kong
Certificate of Excellence

This really is a fantastic hotel. Whilst it may not be the newest or flashiest hotel in Hong Kong, it really delivers in ALL the right places. The things this hotel does well are numerous, but in no particular order:
- Guest recognition (I was known by name by multiple staff who really did not need to!)
- View from room (Priceless, so you MUST pay extra for the Harbour View, or alternatively join InterContinental Ambassador and get upgraded for nothing)
- The Club Lounge (Again, absolutely worth paying the extra for if you want a serene Breakfast/Lunch/Tea/Evening snacks working environment with free-flow Champagne after 5)
- The beds (What is it about InterContinental beds?)
- Room service (Fast, high quality, little touches)

OK - it's not cheap. But, hell, if you really want the best you have to pay for it. Enjoy.

Room Tip: Harbour View Club Room

We stayed her for Chinese New Year and I have to say the service was excellent. We booked a Harbour View Room which was so Amazing you could see the laser show every night from our room. We were on the 8 floor and it was clean, housekeeping are so nice and helpful. We also were welcomed to the Club Lounge for Breakfast every morning, which was buffet style that had Sushi to western style breakfast, also they have happy Hour with Complimentary Champagne or cocktails and buffet treats. The staff are wonderful, Barry and Tiffany, were all so kind, they all made our experience so wonderful. The Hotel as soon as you walk in is breathtaking with the view of the Harbour, I suggest you take some time and seat in the lounge for cocktails. It is walking distance to all trains, shopping, restaurants and Tailors. My tailor suggestion would be New Shanghai Custom Tailors on Middle Road on the top floor, which is across the street from the hotel, but make sure you ask for Nelson or Sandy, they been there for over 30 years and has tailored many well known people in the world, once you meet them, they will be friends for life. This Hotel is for couples, family, business, or solo. It is a great place and I can not wait to go back again. Thanks Intercontinental and staff for a great stay.

Room Tip: Make sure you get the Harbour View Room, its extra but well worth it!!

Lovely hotel with stunning harbour views. The corner suites are opulent and command wonderful views. The restaurants are tremendous. Either an amazing buffet or one of the greatest steak houses in the world

It is always nice to be treated well throughout a hotel stay. This hotel had met every expectation I had hoped for. Service was excellent. From the moment I checked in, I was warmly welcomed by the bell man and check-in staff. The hotel assistant manager escorted me to my suite and upon entering I smelled cigarette odor within the room; I asked for a non-smoking room. She immediately apologized for the mistake and asked me to stay within the room while she sort things out. Aside from the smell of the cigarette, the suite overlooking the harbor was breathtaking. A short moment later, the assistant manager called and asked if I was ready to move to another suite. To my surprise, I was given an upgrade suite with 2 large windows overlooking the harbor, a jacuzzi bath tub and steam room shower. I could not thank her enough as she continued to apologize for inconvenience that she had caused.

The room was fantastic. Soon after settling in, housekeeping brought a crib for our 2 year old daughter. There was even a small baby amenity kit that included 2 diapers, baby shower, and baby lotion -- my wife was ecstatic. There is a Bose audio system that had an iPhone dock and a 37" Sharp LCD TV I didn't use at all. I didn't want to leave the room because the view was simply gorgeous. The steam room was very relaxing after a day of walking and shopping in Hong Kong. My daughter enjoyed jacuzzi was well.

If this is your first time planning a trip Hong Kong, I highly suggest a harbor view room. You will not regret it.

There is a big pool and a large jacuzzi pool in the hotel. I enjoyed the jacuzzi pool because it has a great view of the waters. There are also 2 workout facilities with every type of equipment.

The hotel lobby bar is also offers great view of the harbor. I definitely recommend ordering a drink at night and enjoy the atmosphere.

The closest MTR station is Tsim Sha Tsui. It's a fairly large metro stop but you can easily find the hotel because the station has good signs. I believe the exit is J. It took about 10 minutes from the station to walk to the hotel. There is also an elevator from the MTR to the hotel area. Most of Hong Kong area I do not suggest traveling with a stroller, but I was fortunate enough to not needing to lifting our stroller throughout our stay with this hotel.

We did not try any of the restaurants in the hotel, but I heard Spoons was fantastic. But definitely get a drink at the hotel lounge bar.

Room Tip: Book a room overlooking the harbor.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Ask for Harbour view rooms to look out at night to the scenic harbor views and the nightly lazer show.
Great restaurants, and great views from the lobby bar. Service was a little bit on the slow side the night a group of were there.
Great location for shopping, site seeing, and just relaxing.

Room Tip: Ask for harbor side, or the 15line series, with a great pool view.

Not only by the location, not only by its grand design and layout, Intercontinental Hongkong overlooking the Harbour can be a great idea for those who would like to get a royal treatment.
But not surprising it comes at a huge cost. If your boss is coming make him stay here.
