Another great stay at this hotel. They will treat you right. Within walking distance to the star ferry, harbour walk, Kowloon park and shopping. They have a real nice buffet for breakfast. Rooms are Hong Kong sized :)

Room Tip: Ask for a Harbour view

we stayed two nights at this hotel in Jan '13. we had been booked into this hotel by the travel agent and when we arrived we asked to be upgraded to a Harbour Club room with a view of the harbour which they happily did. One of the main reasons we made the request was the ability to use wi-fi internet so that we could call home on our skype account but the connection to the internet was so bad that we couldnt use it as it kept dropping out. The room was spacious and clean with a nice view of the harbour. The hot breakfast options were not very good so after tasting some very dried out bacon I stuck to muesli. The staff are polite and helpful. We did make use of the club for pre dinner drinks which were good. I didnt particularly like the location and would have preferred to stay on the Hong Kong island side. Kowloon as a shopping destination is overrated and unless you have money to spend in the numerous Cartier stores or Chanel or other very top end stores there isnt much else.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on our way home from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. We read previous reviews about the size of the rooms (very small), and after having a huge room at our resort in KK, these reports were spot on. But as we were out most of the day, this was only a place to sleep. There was a good selection for breakfast. The travel agent recommended this hotel due to it's location. The Star Ferry was a five minute walk whilst the Metro station was directly below the hotel, so to get about was a doddle. Public transport is very cheap and if you purchase an Octopus Card, you can travel all over, including the ferry, bus, metro and tram. I'm glad we stayed on the Kowloon side as this seemed better than Hong Kong Island. We paid extra to use the Harbour Lounge at the hotel which included unlimited beer and soft drinks plus free cocktails during cocktail hour, wi-fi and other benefits. The only downside was the touts hanging around outside trying to sell you fake watches and handbags etc. After a while we could spot them before they got to us and found this little game rather amusing. If you don't make eye contact and say no, they leave you alone. Don't take their business cards and keep walking.

Room Tip: We chose the Harbour Club at The Kowloon Hotel which has a dedicate check in and exclusive use of th...

Visited Hong Kong last week with the kids for 6 nights. Upon arrival I noted that the decor hadn't changed since my last visit in 1994 however every aspect of this building from reception to the lifts, hallways, curtains, tiles, carpets, wallpaper etc.., are meticulously maintained. Yes I agree with all previous reviewers that the rooms are tiny but you have to remember that this hotel sits on arguably the most expensive allotment of dirt on the planet in the dead centre of one of the most densely populated cities on earth. We arrived late morning having booked 2 Harbour view rooms. We were told at reception that Harbour view rooms were available but if we wanted interconnecting rooms we would have to wait 90 minutes. We decided to wait so we could keep a closer eye on Miss 13 and Master 9. Very sensible move as it created the illusion of having more space. The reception area is best described as chaotic around the clock but to the credit of this hotel there is always an army of staff behind the desk, several doormen, bell hops and valet parking attendants. You never wait more than a few moments to get someone's attention however it's all business in this hotel much like the rest of Hong Kong so if you are looking for a best friend relationship with the concierge and for reception staff to worship and serve you like royalty then this hotel is not for you. The rooms are well appointed with all the ammenities you would expect for the price including bathrobes, quality toiletries, towels and pillows. The view from both of our rooms was reasonably impressive but sadly the floor to ceiling windows were due for a clean. On our last night a courtesy card was left on our desk advising that window cleaners would be working on our level the following day so we should close our curtains if we wanted some privacy. House keeping was excellent. They would service the room each morning and then provide a turn down service every evening which included further emptying of the bins replacing water, toiletries etc.. if required. The location is outstanding. Easy walk to the promenade for evening enterainment. Several good eateries nearby and some good pubs and tailor shops nearby around Hart Avenue in East Tsim Sha Tsui. The MRT can be accessed from within the reception area of the hotel so short trips to Jordan (next MRT station north) for an abundance of Dim Sum eateries. Take the MRT south to Central or Admiralty Sations (or use the star ferry) to explore Hong Kong Island. There is no pool in this hotel and for a fee you can use the YMCA facilities across the road. Hong Kong for me is all about food adventures so we never ate in the hotel but I did inspect the buffet in the Middle Row bar and it was most impressive in terms of variety. We were out from morning to late evening each day with brief visits during the course of the day back to the room (try finding a public toilet in Kowloon) so the size of the rooms was not an issue for us. Location is paramount. If you are looking for a resort style holiday then don't come here. If you are coming to Honk Kong for business or to actively explore the city, then I can strongly recommend this property to you.

Room Tip: Upgrade to Harbour view. If you a re in Hong Kong for business you may want Harbour deluxe which inc...

We arrived at the crack of dawn after a 12 hour flight and found that our travel agent had made our reservation for the FOLLOWING year. Not only did the staff find us another room but it was available immediately for the much needed snooze. The luxury room is tiny but this inevitable in Hong Kong so we had to get creative with storage – suitcases under beds and on the table. The shower is in the bath. Apart from the size of the room, the finishes area attractive. Our package included a buffet breakfast and we were certainly spoilt for choice.

The metro is right underneath the hotel and the ferry service across the Hong Kong island is 10 minutes walk away. Great location! No swimming pool though which was not a problem in winter but would no doubt be missed in summer. Once has pool privileges at the YWCA across the road but at a fee. People seem to miss the wifi access which comes at an extra cost but we were too busy sightseeing to be bothered by this.

Definitely buy an Octopus card for travelling on buses/metro etc and load it with cash if you are staying for a few days. The queues to buy single tickets are long and buses need exact change. Definitely simplified our travelling. Spoil yourself with drinks at Aqua, located at no 1 Peking Rd, 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. Spectacular views of Victoria Harbour. Very glam, expensive but worth it!

We were here with our two children (10 & 6), staying here for 3 nights and enjoyed everything about our stay at this hotel. In a great location it was easy to walk to the markets or to dinner. We have no complaints and would love to stay here again.
