Great Location, Expensive, But So is Hong Kong

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 8, 2011
I stayed there for several nights. The location was excellent. Metro is right outside of the hotel. When it is really hot out, like in August, you can go through the metro station to get to other places and stay cool. It is an expensive hotel, but when it is right next to the Penisula Hotel, you know it is going to be expensive. The room is OK, small, but efficient. The breakfast is not as good as other hotels in China. Usually when I visit China, the breakfast buffet is the best part, but this one, it was OK.

I've been there with my husband for tsim sha tsui and kowloon tour.
it is very close to ferry terminal and tsimsha tsui station.
location is perfect but nothin is attractive, room and bath tub is too small and even no space to put on a suitcase.
there are 4bottles of water in the fridge, but be carufel to drink the watson water. it cost 25 hkg per bottle, we didn't know that and drank, because no label on the bottle.

singapore airline flight attendant and so many group tour people are waiting for lobby to check in/out, it was so crowded with them,

Size of room wouldn't be great for families, but otherwise everything is excellent! Stayed many times at The Kowloon!

I would probably stay at the Kowloon Hotel again because of the location. We could walk everywhere, use the metro or quickly get a very cheap taxi. I would take advice from another reviewer and go for a bigger room. The mattress did me in, my back just didn't like the hard mattress. The staff were lovely and put on another layer, this helped a tiny bit. In our party we had two ladies sharing a twin room but the rooms were so small and beds were only 2 cm apart ,one ended up hiring another room. Also hardly any seats in the lobby when you are waiting for other people.

The lobby is a nightmare with noisy groups everywhere and a cheap looking cafeteria. You need to queue to access the front desk. The rooms are small, no drawers, just hangers. Bathroom looks a bit old but still ok. Breakfast is ok, never been a big fan of 20m long buffets with average quality food, I prefer less but better.
I will try something else next time.

Stayed here a few times. Prices becoming quite expensive but still worth it. Many airlines staff also stay here. Smallest room but functional. Stay here if location is your priority. Just behind the 5-star Peninsular Hotel. MTR virtually next to hotel. Starbucks in the same block. Best for business short stay.
