“Very Nice Hotel near the City Plaza”
Reviewed May 1, 2012

This is a great hotel within walking distance of the City Plaza. The hotel has excellent service with staff that speak english and great rooms. Internet is neither free nor cheap and this is the only drawback. Nice selection for dinner with good portions of food.

They provide a shuttle service to City Plaza if you want to go shopping and the shuttles leave every half hour. Check with the reception for details. You can get a coach from the airport when you arrive or can take a coach back to the airport when you leave. It cost me around HKD 150 for the shuttle (one way) and it took about an hour from the airport. A red taxi would have taken HKD 350.

A definite stay the next time I am in Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Ask for a bay facing room if you are on the higher floors (above 15th) as the buildings nearby are a...

In this Hotel you get what you pay for. Rooms are adequate however a bit on the small side. Beds were really hard, we asked for a mattress softener to make it more comfortable. Rooms were clean and to expectations. Breakfast buffet was ok.

It is right near all public transport however it was not close enough to the action for me. I would prefer to put the money that we spent on taxis towards the cost of a hotel closer to the action.

I am an ex-HK resident and stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in Feb for the first time. Although the location is away from the city centre, it is very convenient for public transport with the underground (MTR) 2 minutes away, tram and bus stops are very close by too. It takes 10 to 15 minutes to reach Wanchai by MTR. Also near the hotel are plenty of cafes, noodle bars where they do noodles for under £2. Further down the road, 5 mins walk, there is a small restaurant which opens for 24 hours. Ask the hotel staff for its location. Shops (7/11 etc) is just across the road. The hotel rooms are clean and big enough. Hotel staff were helpful. One advice I would make is if you give the chambermaid a small tip of say HKD 100, about £8, she will look after you. But do that at the beginning of your stay, not at the end. Considering the price (I did not pay top dollars), I thought it was very good VFM. Would recommend it and would stay there again.

Room Tip: You get less traffic noise on higher floors

We stayed here for 6 nights in April as part of a tour around HK and Shanghai. This hotel is positioned away from the main hustle and bustle but close enough (via a very cheap taxi ride) to most part of HK island and to the Star Ferry port if you want to cross into Kowloon etc.

Rooms were spacious and very clean and the hotel bar was nice for a drink at the end of a long day or evening if not a little expensive (as most hotel bars are!).

Overall a very pleasant stay and recommended.

i stayed for 2 nights in this hotel in april 2012. the rooms were very small & so as the toilet. room service was good. hotel staffs were too good. i appreciate each one of them in the reception who helped us when we lost a camera in the taxi. staffs took us to the near by police station in the middle of the night to register a complaint. though the rooms were small it looked new and tidy. breakfast spread was reasonably good. internet is not free & its very expensive. they should provide it for free at least in the public areas. location is good, you have a store opposite to the hotel. its far from shopping areas but not too far away.

Room Tip: if you are lucky you will get a harbor view room. so check with the hotel at the time of reservation...

Have visited Hong Kong on numerous occasions and each time tsayed in a different hotel. there are some nice local retsaurants nearby and I also found the food in hotel good quality and not overpriced. The room was comfortable and clean - nice bed. The bar had music some nights and it was pleasant and non intrustive. Staff throughout were very good and helpful Some shopping nearby but not much so you need take taxi or the MRT - MRT is very close and easy to use and from there you can very easily access Causeway Bay Wanchai and accross the tunnell to town. Taxis and trams also good Note Ma77mc's review said stairs were a problem at MRT - if you walk past the stairs you have full escalator access to platforms so not an issue. I stayed 5 night and found pricing reaosnable and yes I would return and stay here again. good acces to Hong Kong Stadium as well as most of corws heading opposite way than to hotel.
