The Harbour Grand Kowloon was our last stop on a 6 week holiday, mostly spent in New Zealand. I booked it so that we could relax and luxuriate for a day and a half before our flight home to London at 0110 in the morning of our second night. We stayed on the Harbour Club floor in a harbour view room and were totally satisfied with the experience. After we arrived from Macau and had lunch in the Promenade restaurant, we strolled along the waterfront to TST and back which was a very nice walk (about 35 minutes each way), and set us up nicely for wine and snacks in the Harbour Club louge. On our second day we lazed around the roof pool, had lunch in the Waterfront restaurant and later, after another brief stroll around the Whampoa area, took advantage again of the Harbour Club lounge wine and snacks before we showered, checked out and set off to the airport. This was the perfect end to our wonderful holiday and was certainly the best hotel in which we stayed.

Like most reviewers have noted, it is a bit away from all the action of TST and a bit annoying to get to Hong Kong Island. Besides that, the hotel was nice to stay at. Was there for a couple of weeks but enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we were there in the middle of Cyclone/Typhoon season so it rained quite a bit. The bakery downstairs offered some nice treats. The Japanese restaurant that is basically on-site was pretty delicious and genuine. A 5 minute walk away and you are by many shops... none luxurious but basic shops if you need to pick something up.

Fantastic hotel, with excellent customer service levels. Yes it was slightly out of town, but a courtesy bus ran regularly into the main hub. We liked being on the harbour and being able to walk from town along the harbour to the hotel, half hour walk. When the choice comes down to a fab view of the harbour or town traffic.......

The roof top pool with glass sides was great, and after a lovely to swim, sunbathe then follow great to follow up with an early evening cocktail at the pool bar (all overlooking the harbour),

A good lcation to explore Kowloon and HK island. highly recommend this hotel - luxurious, Enjoy

My 22 yo daughter and I stayed for 14 nights in February 2013. Although the room smelt a little musty when we first arrived, it soon aired out. We were on the 16th floor overlooking the harbour - what a view! The room had twin beds, was spacious and the bathroom had a separate shower and bath. Each day we received a paper and bottled water - fresh fruit was supplied as we needed it. The check in was speedy as was our late check out. The doormen were always smiling and courteous. The complimentary bus was very handy - but make sure you allow half an hour to catch the bus as it fills up very quickly and it is often too late to try to board the bus 10 mins before scheduled departure. However, there are many taxis waiting in hotel driveway and the fare for these is very inexpensive. Many local shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Overall, we were more than happy with location, service and atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again if we had the chance.

I stayed with my family for a week and overall this hotel lives up to its billing. It is a high standard hotel with excellent and focussed service. The service also seemed good humoured when dealing with the frailties of children.

The standard of service was high, in that it was prompt, effective and not too intrusive. If you have children or you just like swimming pools then you will enjoy the swimming pool on top of the hotel. It is not just your standard 'oblong' but a very pleasant (and heated) pool of varying depths so that both children and the swim-for-exercise brigade are catered for. Being on the top of the building it can be windy if it is a windy day.

Breakfast as one might expect at an international hotel in China is able to feed growing children and is quite extensive with good quality food. We didn't eat other meals at the hotel partly because they were pretty expensive for what you got - unlike the breakfast buffet. Besides HK has so much to choose from anyway.

The room was quite big, well appointed, good light and with an excellent view.

The hotel is a bit out of the standard tourist areas but there is a free hotel bus service to TST and The Peninsula Hotel leaving to and from every half hour or so via a stop in Mody Road.

Our room had an excellent view of Kowloon Bay but if you want a view of HK Harbour then you will need to specify that.

There is a supermarket / food court under the building which is quite useful if you don't just want to eat at hotel restaurants or need snacks.

Make sure you have the address details (eg the Hotel's card) as Taxi drivers don't know this hotel as well as some others.

Room Tip: Be specific if you want a view of Hong Kong harbour and its fabulous skyline - otherwise you will ge...

If your budget will stretch to it, this hotel is well worth staying in. Service, food, and facilities are all excellent. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well maintained. The staff at reception are most helpful and the staff in the spa are particularly friendly. The room service is very good quality but the buffet on the ground floor is even better and very fresh, especially the pastries at breakfast. I stayed in January and the rooftop swimming pool was open but deserted, a pleasant surprise in such a large hotel.

Don't be put off by the location. The free shuttle bus to Tsim Sha Tsui negates this, and taxis back from there cost ~HKD25 if you plan on having a late night out.

Only two (tiny) downers spring to mind. The TV was badly tuned and had a dull selection of channels, almost all news. Not even the random inclusion of MTV China, which is highly entertaining because it is so bad, made up for this.

The other downer is the Hoi Yat Heen restaurant on the 2nd floor. A restaurant with the cheek to suggest a HKD1000 per head set menu should have absolutely faultless service. The waiting staff are rude, unable to answer basic queries about the dishes, and masters of bustling around without actually doing anything. They go way past offensive to the point of being unintentionally hilarious, in stark contrast to the rest of the hotel where everyone is very pleasant. This would be a reasonable, if pricey, restaurant if they took all the waiters on a week's holiday and trained them properly.

Room Tip: Go for the top floors to make trips to the spa & gym easier!

This hotel met with all our expectations. A stunning location and beautiful room. Though some distance from the Star Ferry the hotel provided a free shuttle service every half hour. We didn't eat in the restaurant as we were too tired after a long haul flight to do it justice so went to the hotel bar for a snack and glass of wine. The bar was comfortable and service good. However the live music was unbearably loud and the food and wine expensive. Breakfast in the dining room was buffet style with a good choice of ethnic dishes, but not much to suit western taste. The tea served by a particularly surly waiter was always cold, even though topped up regularly..The orange juice not fresh but from concentrate. Eggs cooked to order were good.
The hotel pool on the 21st floor was amazing though a bit blustery on our last day. The staff everywhere were friendly and efficient. Our room was immaculate and refreshed beautifully each day. The concierge was brilliant when we were told our flight had been cancelled. He did everything possible to assist us in obtaining information and kept us informed throughout the day. All in all a fantastic hotel in a beautiful city. We would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for harbour view
