“Smack bang in the middle of the city - Good business hotel”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

This hotel is good value for money. It is bang in the middle of the city within walking distance of public transportation, bars pubs and night spots. Absolutely nothing to complain about this hotel. It scored 100% on location, location, location!

Room Tip: get a room on the higher floors

The room stank of smoke although it was located on a non smoking floor. The rooms are small and with old deco (previous hotel the room was almost double in size for half the price with much better view, location and deco). The bathroom door as a vent opening, you can hear everything that happens in there. No horrible sound isolation, can here doors opening and closing in passage whilst in the room.
Hotel is located in red light district, so it's a bit dodge for a family staying there. The foyer was quite smart, but that's where it ends.
Received great service, check-in was quick and hassle free. But could only check-in after 3pm which was a problem, since we stayed in another hotel previously and had to check out at 11am. Luckily we could leave our luggage at the other hotel until then. When leaving your luggage at Warney, after check out it stands in foyer.
The staff were prompt an friendly. A lot of westerners stay there. Mostly male Caucasians. Was not the best stay I had in Hong Kong. Would rather try some where else next time.

The best thing with this hotel is the location. Its in the middle of Hong Kong island.
'The MRT is just outside the door, cross the street and you can use the magnificent system to go everywhere. There is also a hotel shuttle bar that takes you to the train station in 10 minutes. The train to the airport is also very quick.

In the area they are plenty of bars and restaurant. You well find something for almost any taste.

Breakfast in the hotel is OK, but not more then that. You will be fine by going to one of the close by restaurants.

If there is one thing that I did not like, then that was that the beds are very hard.

Somewhat annoying are the ladies bars on the area that tries to drag you in. But if you just keep walking they will focus on the next potential customer. I would not necessarily recommend this to families, but for everyone else this is a decent hotel with an acceptable price in a central location.
Price wise Hong Kong is expensive. For the same money in Shenzhen you get a much better hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the higher floors.

I stayed here for one night in Dec 2011, but just getting around to my reviews a year later! This place was nice - very clean, comfortable beds, nice breakfast and room service, quiet and safe (single female traveling solo).

The neighborhood seemed decent - a little sketchy maybe with some older American businessmen trolling on local women in several dodgy bars, but just stay away from those particular places and it's no problem. Really conveniently located to the metro, which is also a breeze to navigate.

The location does not justify the price. Old hotel, old beds and towels. Small room. Very noisy area with a lot of bars. A small red light district. I regularly visit Hong Kong, this was my first stay at this hotel and definitely my last stay.

I have stayed here many times in the past but this will be my last stay. I arrived at 1.30pm and were told that my room would not be ready until 2.30pm as I wanted a non-smoking room. Many other people then checked in while I was waiting. When I asked the reception desk why - they said they were all smokers!! Really!! First room 1708 was appalling - filthy dirty and tiny. The bath had so many dirt stains that I was reluctant to use it - and the toilet did not flush! I complained and was shifted to room 1519. This room was a lot better. The service from the front desk was indifferent and often rude. The location is quite central and close to Wanchai station- if you don't mind all of the street crawlers and accompanying followers. Really has seen better days and I think there are better hotels in HK for the same cost. Service can really make the difference and this hotel isn't willing to look on its guests as important customers - rather sees them as an imposition.

We booked this hotel 2 months in advance for a twin bed, with full advance payment and on check in they did not have a twin bed, instead, they gave us a king size bed with an extra bed, now those of who have stayed in Hongkong Hotels know very well, how big these rooms are and with an extra bed, imagine the situation, and also the property is very old not maintained well, for the tarrif that I paid, could get much better hotels !!!
