Regal Hongkong Hotel
Ranked #118 of 725 Hotels in Hong Kong
Reviewed June 11, 2013

I've stayed at the Regal Hotel Causeway Bay a number of times and it seems as time goes by service and amenities are lipping badly. The rooms desperately need an upgrade or at least a good clean - mould in the shower recess, cracked tiles and a tired feel really don't attract people to this hotel. and then there's the checkout. Nearly 30 minutes checking out while they cancelled the deposit (why do they need this when you're a loyalty member), check the bill several times by two or more staff, give you the bill to sign and then start the process of processing your credit card. And this was not a peak departure period and there were 4/5 staff!!! Can't believe it's the same chain as the Regal Airport which it fantastic. Time to lift your game!

Room Tip: Try the Regal Kowloon side - maybe it's better.

We stayed at the Regal Hong Kong Hotel for 10 nights, and we had a fabulous stay. We paid extra for the Executive Club, and it was WELL worth it with a very good breakfast and happy hour included. We were delighted when we were assigned a room on the 34th floor (top floor), with the very high ceilings and a view of the harbour. The room was very spacious and bright, and we felt quite at home. The bathroom is spacious and we loved the shower with L'Occitane products. The vanity lighting could be brighter, and it would help if there was a plug in for a curling iron in the bathroom, but we made do. The staff in the Executive Club were absolutely fabulous! Kris Chue the manager makes a point of getting to know all of the guests by their names, and she was so helpful in many respects including recommending restaurants and sightseeing. She was very attentive to our needs and we very much enjoyed our conversations with her. We also want to thank Cathy (she was a newer employee) and Caesar and all of the other staff on the 31st floor who made our stay so delightful! The location of the hotel in Causeway Bay is fabulous; just a block to Sogo and the metro (MTR) and about 2 blocks to Times Square, in easy walking distance to so many great restaurants. We also appreciated the free airport shuttle - when we arrived at the airport we went to the hotel desk at the airport and were directed to the shuttle which came right away - and free wifi on the shuttle too! Laundry service was good as was housekeeping. Everything about our stay at the Regal Hong Kong was fabulous. If we were to return to Hong Kong again, I wouldn't think twice about where to stay. I would make my reservation at the Regal Hong Kong!

Room Tip: Book the Executive Club for sure.

I stayed in this hotel for many many times. I love their friendly and warm services, going extra mile to accommodate the needs of guest etc. I particularly happy with the service of Kristy and Ken under the supervision of Kris(Manager). They know when is the right time to approach you when a guest need assistance. I also love their concierge services. However the constant adverse changes of the Regal Reward Program have placed dent to the superior services rendered by the club floor and concierge.

For a business trip to Hong Kong we spent about 5 nights at the Regal Hotel on Hong Kong island. The Regal is situated on the eastern side of Hong Kong Island, not far from Times Square and other shopping centres (but there is shopping everywhere in Hong Kong...). Public transport like cable car and underground is near.

We got a good deal for one of the Club Rooms, which are located at the three upper floors of the hotel. The rooms were very spacious indeed, and equipped with everything you might need in a five star hotel. As a club guest, you also have access to the club lounge, where you can enjoy (free!) drinks and small snacks. Breakfast was good, staff was friendly, but not always fully professional and maybe a bit inexperienced. There is a swimming pool on the top floor, with a fantastic view over Hong Kong Island, and staff there is also very helpful.

All in all, we had a very pleasant stay at a reasonable rate in a very spacious and luxurious room. The hotel may have seen better days, and we are not sure about the standard rooms. But if you are looking for a hotel on a central location for a reasonable price, the Regal is a very good choice. Try and get one of the club rooms, we believe they might offer much better value for money.

Room Tip: Get one of the club rooms on the upper floors!

We checked in at Regal Hong Kong hotel on June 1, 2013 shortly before 12 noon. The front office staff gave us the worse treatment we ever expedienced. His name is HENRY. He insisted we booked for 5 rooms despite us showing him our prepaid service voucher showing clearly we paid for 4 rooms. He was banging his papers and mumbling in Chinese clearly in a foul mood. We had a long trip and I told him we are so tired and he arrogantly said "I am also tired " After do much insistence we booked 5 rooms, he said he will check with reservations only to find out we are correct as the voucher is for 4 rooms. He made us wait for almost an hour suffering his arrogance, disrespect and simply RUDE service. Can the management of Regal Hong Kong hotel remind their staff b about customer service and how to treat their customers properly.

We spent 4 nights at this lovely property early this month. This was my 6th time of staying at Regal HK in the last 10 years. I've always had a very positive experience. Reception and Bell desk staff are always nice, efficient, and very friendly with a warm smile. The room is very clean and well-appointed. The location is very good as well, close to the Sogo, Time Square and plenty of local HK style cafes and a variety of restaurants within walking distance. Communication with the hotel was good also, Kathy helped us reconfirm our room type and arranged our airport shuttle transportation. Highly recommend...really enjoyed our stay as usual.

The Regal Hotel at Causeway Bay fulfilled our every need on our recent stay in Hong Kong. We spent 9 nights at the Hotel (in early May) in an Executive Room and were not disappointed. The rooms are of a reasonable size for HK and ours was very light and airy with a view at night of the lights of Causeway Bay and Hong Kong Harbour. The decor is a little glitzy but not unbearable. Our only complaint was a temperamental aircon and the water pressure in the shower could have been better. We did have a small problem one day with the toiltet plumbing and this was attended to within an hour of us reporting it. You cannot ask more than that.

The highlight is definitely the staff, particularly on the Executive Floor. Check in was smooth and from then on we were definitely treated like favoured guests. Kris Chue was wonderful on the administration side of things and then the staff comprising of Luca Lasseur, Kenneth, Sunny, Caesar, Kristy, Iris (and several more whose names we did not obtain) were all outstanding on the hospitality side. Always very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and all of them went out of their way to make our stay so enjoyable. A very big THANK YOU to all of you. The staff members at Concierge and on the door were also very helpful when we had a reason to deal with them.

The reason for our trip was my 60th birthday and my husband wanted to surprise me with flowers on the Saturday night as we were dining at the Italian Restaurant. Kris Chue went out of her way to help him achieve the ordering of the flowers and Kenneth then took over when we arrived for cocktails before dinner and had them hidden from me, along with a cake he had organised as the surprise. It certainly made for a very special moment so a very big thank you to Kris and Kenneth. Also to my wonderful husband for a truly memorable night!!

I would not hesitate in recommending this Hotel for a Hong Kong stay. The MTR was an easy walk away but the trams, which we loved riding, were just outside the Hotel. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a room on the Executive Level.
