Stayed at the Shangri-la 3-6 October 2012. Staff greeted us as we arrived outside the hotel and made sure check-in went smoothly, which it did. Amazing entrance to hotel and lobby. We had a fantastic stay in a harbour view room. Cannot fault the hotel in any way. Staff were always smiling, very polite and happy to assist in any way. Would highly recommend the hotel. Huge thanks to all staff for a very memorable stay in Hong Kong!

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times when attending the Hong Kong Sevens and both times have been extremely happy.

The lobby is beautiful; the rooms while not being modern are large and very comfortable and the service is really five star. We had a harbour view room which is worth paying for as it certainly has the wow factor when you walk in and the curtains open to reveal a floor to ceiling view of Hong Kong Island and the harbour.

The food that we had here was mainly room service and was decent.

We would never hesitate to visit this hotel again, although we would love to try the Island Shangri-La, but it's a bit out of our price range unfortunately!

Room Tip: Go for a Harbourview or the club level (never tried the latter due to the rate, but it's suppose...

Best Hotel i have stayed in for a long time. The staff at Shangri-La are very friendly, polite and generous, from the very first moment i stepped into the hotel, we was greated with a warm greating, we stayed here for our first 3 nights of our honeymoon before drifted off to another destination. Shangri-La showered us with many free complimentry gifts, jasmine tea, couple portrait picture, cold drinks and chocolates. Each morning and evening the room was serviced and left spotless. 10minute walk from the ferry, harbour and even the city centre shops, few minutes walk from the metro and with many places to eat on your door step and even in the hotel. The food in the hotel is of good quality so you should at lest give it a try even though it is a little bit more pricey then other places, this is partially due to the status of the restaurants.
If i ever visit HK ever again i will definantly stay in this hotel again. Looking forward to the Shangri-La hotel opening up in London.

Room Tip: Ask to be placed in the Harbour view, you wont be disapointed!

The quality of the experience continues to be truly exceptional. The hotel is characterisaed by having staff who are clearly dedicated to customer experience coupled with good quality rooms. Horizon Club is well managed and sparky in character..with wonderful views across the harbour. I tried the Italian Restaurant, it was ok but not memorable. I will be back to the hotel for sure.

My wife and I were only able to afford to stay here because it was a work trip. I stayed in many 5 star hotels before, but this hotel is luxurious, and has amazing service that we have not seen anywhere else before. The entire staff constantly goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need at all times.

The only problem we had was that the hotel had 100% occupancy, and they didn't have our room on time, so we had to wait almost 3 hours in the lobby, which was frustrating... but turned out to be well worth it: they kept handing us drink vouchers on the house, and when we finally got the room, they upgraded us to a beautiful room in the executive floor (19th floor), which included the buffet breakfast, a spectacular feast of incredible variety of fresh and prepared food, freshly squeezed juices, made to order omelets, freshly made belgian waffles, and much, much more.

The room itself was beautiful and huge, with everything you need and more, including an espresso machine with complimentary Nespresso capsules and teas, power curtains (yes, with a separate button for day and night curtains...), surround system with 7 speakers hooked to the TV and DVD player, and to an audio hookup for iphones, ipads, etc. They even had a printer in one of the cabinets, with a USB hookup. The bed was a spacious King, and very comfortable.
Our view wasn't amazing, it was to the Kowloon side where the lobby's main entrance is. Ask for the more expensive bay view rooms.

The bathroom was beautiful, all white and grey marbal, with both a bath and a large shower, and complimentary everything from comb, tooth brush, to a razor and Q tips. They really have everything you need.

The spa is very nice, small, but very relaxing, with a small warm pool, and a hot Jacuzzi for both men and women, and with separate steam room, dry sauna, and relaxation/meditation room for located in the men's and women's separate locker rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a bay view room

Where to begin...my husband and I stayed here for the first 4 nights of our honeymoon.
I have stayed in 5 star hotels before and admit I did have high expectations given the company name but I was completely blown away by everything about this hotel.
Upon arrival we were instantly greeted warmly by a member of staff who took us to the reception and guided us through check in. We chose not to have our luggage taken by a bell boy to the room but this was offered.
The room itself - stunning. We had the most basic room offered but basic doesn't come close to describing it. The most comfy bed I have ever stayed in, every amenity you could think of, complimentary water on a daily basis and within 5 minutes of being in the room we were brought a welcome drink of Jasmine tea. The room was immaculate, on our first morning due to jet lag we slept past the maid, however they put a card under your door to let you know. I called down to say we were now going out and in less than a minute a maid had arrived!
Each night we made use of the cocktail hour at the Tapas bar, which made drinks exceptionally reasonable for Hong Kong. The staff were attentive, remembering our drinks orders after the first day.
We also ate at the Lobby Lounge twice. The first time having some traditional Chinese dim sum which was delicious. The second time having their afternoon tea buffet (several days a week you can order traditional afternoon tea brought to your table and the other days a buffet is provided) initially I felt disappointed that I would not get the traditional afternoon tea but upon seeing the buffet I was immediately pacified! Words cannot begin to describe the food on offer, a selection of hot and cold, Chinese and international, and every dessert you could imagine. Chefs were constantly out, topping up and ensuring presentation was immaculate. The pride in their work is clearly evident. My husband and I spent FAR too much time eating, ensuring we sampled everything that there was to offer - so much so that we didn't eat dinner that night.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Star Ferry terminal, 30 seconds to East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR (which links to the main Tsim Sha Tsui station), and 5 minutes walk to Nathan Road and its shopping delights.
This hotel provides such attention to detail - even down to the carpets in the lifts which change daily to reflect the day of the week! I cannot find one single fault.
A truly memorable start to our honeymoon.
