I was holding a very young (but not light!) baby standing in front of the reception trying to check-in. For some reason the hotel couldn't find the reservation I booked through my travel agency. Instead of going their ways to help me find the reservation, the reception lady asked me to step aside to call the travel agency myself. My baby was tired and crying for sleep, and my hands were full with bags. You can imagine how frustrated and helpless I was at the time. Nothing can beat giving your customer the worst impression like this. Although things worked out in the end and I was checked into my room, that was already some 30 mins later for me and for my young baby. It was just awful to start your vacation like this.
Later on I was offered a crib and some small baby amenities, which was quite nice, but I would consider this a given in 5-star hotel like Island Shangri-La.
All in all a pretty nice hotel, but it lacks the warm and personalized touch that a mommy and a baby would love to have.More
