A luxury hotel with excellent service and courteous , helpful staff. We visit Hong Kong every year to visit family and this year we joined the 'Horizon Club' . This meant certain extras such as a bigger room on a higher floor ,eating breakfast in a beautiful room overlooking the harbour and 'Happy Hour' with canapes and wine or champagne. I cannot wait to return.

This is truly a luxurious hotel. We stayed in a Deluxe Room. It was fantastic, very spacious, with stunning views of the city (especially beautiful at night). Every inch of the room was squeakily clean, and the complimentary WIFI worked really well.

The marble bathroom has a LCD TV, bathtub and complete range of premium grade toiletries- you basically do not bring any of your own.

The room service (ordered Nasi Briani) was delivered promptly. The service cart (with a heater compartment) doubled up as a fold over table. The food was simply delicious. All these make dining in the room an enjoyable experience.

Location wise, the hotel is within walking distance to Admiralty MTR station, making traveling so convenient. Besides that, the Pacific Place luxury shopping mall is just steps away from the hotel.

The Island Shangri la is definitely another marvelous Shangri la hotel. Thumbs up!!

We had a peak view room on the 54th floor which was very spacious and had a fabulous old world glamour about it. Huge bed, great bathrooms and so clean! As we arrived just after Christmas so all the amazing decorations were still up. The whole hotel looked very festive!
The staff are all so friendly and for such a busy hotel, they take the time to talk to you.
Enormous choice for breakfast and yes it is expensive but you get a lot for your money plus the quality is very good. Go hungry!
It is very near Hong Kong park so you can walk to The Peak tram station and walk to the malls from the other direction . You can also get to the mall from underneath the hotel.
If you stay for a few days look at the carpets in the lifts. They help to remind you what day it is!!
Would book again as it was a real treat to have the opportunity to stay here.

The service of this hotel is second to none. Our deluxe room was reasonably spacious with large ceiling to floor windows providing lots of natural light into the room. The room itself is quite old fashioned in their decor and dimly lit. Even though the hotel's directory implies there is a Nespresso machine as it gives directions on how to use it, there actually isn't one for a deluxe room when we called to enquire about the absence of a coffee machine. Not sure if they have bothered to correct their directory by now. But we did have coffee and tea sachets and a kettle, and the usual fridge and minibar. There was complimentary Evian water daily so that was much appreciated. Our twin beds were extremely comfortable. We requested for a contour pillow (like the Tempur type) and wow, that was a custom made one which fitted the width of the entire bed! And super comfortable for me as I'm used to sleeping with a contour Tempur pillow at home. They do have all kinds of pillows to suit your needs so just need to ask Guest Services for a try. I only wish I could pack that and take it home with me! As for the bathroom, it was nicely spacious with 3 sets of towels. The toiletries are all from L'Occitane. The shower is super strong so we simply loved it. There is a French bidet. Housekeeping is very attentive. I had the opportunity to use the gym which had a good view of the banyan garden and the JW Marriott Hotel. Very well equipped gym and they provide lots of delicious pears and other fruits, and jugs of fresh lime in water, fresh pineapple in water and the yummiest was the freshly made lemonade! Inside the ladies' changing room was a jacuzzi which is kept at 40-42 degrees C. It felt like a very hot thermal bath and when you switch the power on, the pressure was so strong it really does wonders for my body ache! I have never experienced such a hot and powerful jacuzzi before and I have tried many of them. There is also a steam sauna inside the ladies' changing room and again that was very nice. How I wish I could stay at this hotel forever! The amenities are so wonderful and the service is simply excellent. We didn't have the opportunity to sample the restaurant food so can't review that. We shall want to come back to this hotel again!

Good location close to MTR station. Comfortable room with Peak views. Rooms feel slightly dated but are clean & have all the amenities you may need.
Very friendly staff, lovely outdoor heated pool with loungers on the 8th floor.
The buffet breakfast had a great choice but at HK $349 quite expensive

The Island Shangri-La Hotel on Hong Kong Island is the flagship Shangri-La hotel property. This means extraordinary service and attention to detail. The staff and the service were flawless and saw to every need with grace. The hotel unfortunately only has 2 renovated rooms though they are thoughtfully receiving feedback on the 2 new options before proceeding with a much needed renovation of guest accommodations. Had the hotel undergone this renovation, they would have received 5 stars from me. The new room style is depicted in the photographs I have provided - they are not what you will likely receive as they only have 2 of the renovated rooms.

A very nice room with a great view and wonderful amenities. The hotel is attached to the most high-end mall I have ever seen. Our package included free buffet breakfast, which was quite extravagant. There were about a dozen different stations containing different types of food: fresh fruit, made to order Pho, made to order eggs, waffles, an extensive cereal bar with about a dozen types of dried fruits and nuts, etc. The staff was incredibly attentive. Our package incuded a free transport from the airport in a large Mercedes. We were over an hour late because the airline lost my luggage; the hotel's transportation representative at the airport escorted us to a convenience store within the airport to pick up any necessary items and watched our luggage while we shopped. Our ride was waiting for us when we finished. At the hotel, our personal Concierge, Natalie, took us to our room, served us tea, and checked us in right there. She also arranged to contact the airline to check on my baggage. The room itself was lovely with several nice amenities, separate shower and large soaking tub, but the service (and the breakfast) really set this place apart from other similar hotels.
