“Slowly deteriorating”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel many times and we found it slowly deteriorating!! The best thing about this hotel is the location which is close to MTR in bustling Causeway Bay. There's an unpleasant and somewhat musty smell in the hallway and the rooms - could it be due to some tourists breaking the non-smoking rules?? The buffet breakfast has always been our high of the day but we noticed this time the items' choices have diminished, the service a little less adequate and the experience less enjoyable!! Really couldn't pinpoint what it was but the general feeling of this hotel this time was not as great as it was before. May be it is time for some up-dating and renovation and retraining of staff. May not stay there next time!!

Room Tip: Room with a view of the harbour is great

This hotel is well situated on the causeway.Quite convenient to airport & good busy area at night with huge choice of eateries. Staff friendly & helpful & rooms are really good particularily if you can swing an upgrade when booking..

Room Tip: ask for harbour view

Good location on Causeway Bay and convenient to subway. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms OK, but have seen better days and hotel needs refreshing. No real complaints but nothing memorable either.

We have just come back from a stay at this Hotel, and found it very pleasant. The staff could not have been any friendlier and nothing semed to be too much trouble for them. We even had a free upgrade to a harbour view room. Whilst other reviews say it needs to be upgraded, we didn't think it was too bad at all, Clean sheets and towels. Spotlessly clean bathroom. We ate at the Dickens Bar, and the food was very good and didn't have to wait too long for it. Buffet breakfast was a little on the expensive side, but the choice was vast and free flowing tea or coffee. It is close to shops and restaurants and not far for catching local buses. Just across the road, at the harbour, you can get a sampan and take a trip around the harbour. All in all, a nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 19th floor looking out at the harbour. Nice view and not too noisy

Stayed 7 nites with 2 sons and my wife.Bed and breakfast stay is very sufficient.Great location just in the center of HK Island..The other side Kowloon is hectic..Staying in HK Island part and taking metro, ferry boat(5 min only) even taxi to Kowloon is the right thing to do. Staff and services are really good.Wi-fi is payable expensive and this is a shame for such an hotel.770 HKS one week, equals 110 USD.34th floor is a very good club-bar and a terrace for smokers.
In HK if you are more than 2,you should certainly use taxi for transportation..Cheap but a bit crazy, just because of the drivers in general.Take a taxi from the Airport not the train or else..That is even cheaper for 4 people like us.330 HKS only.Dont miss the food street next to the hotel..All world kıtchen choices are available..Soho part is more Mediterranean style, for dining and nite out.Try Chongking restaurant on elgin street 18 soho central.Very good far east foods..Classified restaurant is another good choice on the Hollywood Street.
Stanley,Repulse Bay and Aberdeen are the best places to see, take a public bus ant go there as well as Budha Temple at Lantau Isl.

Room Tip: 2726 and 2725 have side Bay Panaroma..

This is our second visit to this hotel. It is quite old (c. 40years) and is showing it's age. If you upgrade to an Executive floor, the rooms are larger and you have use of the Executive Lounge. You can also checkin at the lounge which saves time. The staff in the hotel are very friendly but in the lounge they are quite exceptional. A light breakfast there beats the hustle and bustle of the restaurant and in the evenings there are canapes and wines available free. Close to MTR, buses and trams. Shops, bars, restaurants all close by. Try the Cantonese restaurant on the 2nd floor - great food at reasonable cost.

Room Tip: Pick a room on an Executive floor, well worth the extra. Ensure that you have side harbour or harbou...
