Good hotel In the Causeway Bay area. Staff polite and friendly and provided good service. Room clean and of reasonable size for downtown Hong Kong. Excellent breakfast spread. ToTT bar great pace for a drink with magnificent views over the bay.

First time visitor to HK and absoutley loved our stay.

Views are spectacular but if you don't have a full harbour view room the views are not great at all. Plus there are building works (reclaiming the land) immediately opposite the hotel. We found Dickings Bar in the hotel great for a drink and a bite to eat as we arrived fairly late.

We found the staff to be surprising unhelpful though. We travelled home on a late evening flight. We were promised a room that we could quickly shower in/change before our flight but when we wanted to use the room later that evening the hotel said that they don't offer a shower/changing facility.

The Peak Tram is a must. There are shopping malls every few steps in HK - loved the air con and Star Ferry also provides a great city view. The Excelsior roof top bar is great too.

All in all the Excelsior is a nice hotel, a little dated but very clean, comforatble and if you pay for a room with a view it'll make your holiday.

Would love to return to HK!

Room Tip: Full Harbour View Rooms

The hotel is nothing extremely fancy but service is good and rooms are clean. The blow drier works in a peculiar manner though. Located in a drawer below the TV set, you have to pull out the drawer completely before the drier will start. Something like, the drawer is the ON OFF button of the drier. I had to ask the Housecleaning staff how it works and she explained it in an "irritated" manner: like she gets asked the same question many times a day or an " Haven't you worked a blow drier before?" attitude.
They do not have a swimming pool but there is a gym and a sauna room for guests. They have a breakfast room and quite a few dining areas. However, it is great to walk around the streets in Causeway Bay to find local Chinese or Western food. Shopping is at the doorstep of the Excelsior Hotel-everything is within a few minutes walk. Great location in Hong Kong's shopping district!

It's the 2nd week I'm in HK and moved from Cyber Port to Causeway Bay. It's very convenient location to everywhere and I booked sea view room in this hotel. All the staffs are nice and helpful. There're always crowd of people in the lobby check-in & check-out and noisy sometimes, but it doesn't matter. The sea view room is great:comfortable king size bed, cozy sofa, convenient working stations. The only one thing I have little concern is that the bathroom is not such big. Considering I'm in Causeway Bay area, it's not a big deal. All in all, it's a great luxury hotel in a very convenient location and have wonderful sea view rooms.

Love the location of this hotel! I haved stayed here 4 times. The executive floor with habour view is the best. Breakfast at the cafe is fabulous. Llight lunch, snacks, cocktails are complimentary at the executive club with breathtaking view. Service is excellent! Even though the room is a bit old, it is clean and acceptable. I would definitely stay here again and again.

I have stayed here a few times a year for the last 7ish years and the staff couldn't be nicer and are so helpful! Harbour view rooms are the ones to go for, great view over to Kowloon side hongkong and a great view of the noon day gun! Perfectly located as a 7/11, Starbucks and many restaurants located close by. MTR station a 2 minute walk away, Victoria peak and happy valley race course are close by and Lan Kwai Fong is a 10/15 min taxi away with all the best bars in HK. Do agree with other reviewers that rooms could do with a little update, but they are still more than adequate! Hotel bar is a great little gem too! Will continue to stay here for the foreseeable future!

Room Tip: Try and opt for a harbour view room (although a little more expensive) the day and night time views...

It's a bit expensive for the size of the room you get but it is located on the water front and close to causewaybay metro line to get around. I would stay here again.
