First class service and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We arrived late at night and ordered green tea with room service but because it took so long when they brought the tea they also brought a complimentary box of chocolates to apologise for their tardiness. The breakfast was excellent but they must have the slowest pop up toasters in the world. Two toasters serving the entire breakfast area and they seemed to take forever to make toast. Many people commenting about the toasters! Recommend 1 or 2 revolving toasters which would avoid queueing first thing in the morning. Everything else was excellent especially the very helpful concierges.

Room Tip: Make sure you have the bedroom hitec electrics explained to you so you do not have to hunt around th...

I could easily repeat my October 2012 review of this hotel - every word of it.

The feeling of a total team attitude that makes you feel welcome, wanted and appreciated is so special to this hotel. This time we used just about every facility available as my husband had the flu and did not want to venture too far afield. The fact is you can stay at the Mandarin Oriental and never leave, everything you need is right there. The Hair Salon is excellent, the Spa a joy, the Chinnery fun, the M Bar superb, the restaurant "Pierre" a good experience, the Cake Shop for a croissant and coffee in the morning has staff that start your day the right way. The Cafe Causette has great food for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Special mention has to be made of the Mandarin Grill. It was better than ever this visit. The chef has become more daring and the food he turned out was delicious. The staff, as always were exemplary.

The front desk and concierge staff were efficient and charming. This hotel should be held up as an example of everything a top hotel should be.

Ive been there twice. The first, to the bakery (april 2014) and the last time circa october 2013.

Lovely setting for afternoon tea with girl friends. Variety of finger sandwiches, scones, cake, truffles, tea, etc. its always busy! Polite staff and excellent location.

Really Loved the bakery! Chocolate candy, baguette and cakes are to die for! Great variety, as well.
They even accept international orders... excellent idea if you want to surprise someone on their birthday (from aborad)!

Really close (walking distance) to/from post office, IFC mall, ferry piers, etc.

I stayed with my husband who was on a business trip to Hong Kong. Our room was very comfortable but unfortunately overlooked an office block, which was a little unfortunate. The bath was fantastic. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The service was outstanding and the food was exactly what one would expect from a 5 star hotel - attention to detail was great. This is a great hotel to combine business with tag on holiday - highly recommend.

Husband and I stayed at the Mandarin for the fifth time in December 2013 (whilst visiting our son) on route to Bali. We were warmly welcomed at check in and after a couple of minutes one of the receptionists handed my husband our company business card and asked if the address was still current. They had kept this for 8 years! As other reviewers say, a timeless classic hotel, excellent housekeeping, excellent accommodation and excellent staff. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants in the evening this time but did enjoy huge, wonderful breakfasts! We would not stay anywhere else when visiting Hong Kong.

This hotel delivers the trademark style and grace of the MO group, but in rather an uninspiring building. If the building had been more interesting , I would have given them 5 out of 5, rather than the 4 I am giving them now.

I have stayed here and other hotels in Hong Kong. This is the very best, the service is immaculate and the rooms, while quite small are perfect in every way. I return and return to this hotel now. All the restaurants are superb and the spa is great with a really nice swimming pool.
Not often said, but I think it is faultless

Room Tip: Harbour view rooms are nicest
