I guaranty you that, staying in this hotel. you will feel like great. If we talk about location, it's centrally located, with lots of shops at the back and MRT station close by. Would love to visit again and again.

I'm frequently in Hong Kong on business and this is my second stay at the Mandarin Oriental.
For years I stayed at The Intercontinental on the Kowloon side it's about $100.00 a night cheaper and has perhaps better views of Victoria Harbor and the light show at night but in no way can it compare with the extravagance and superior service of The Mandarin. It just depends what you are looking for The Mandarin is close by LKF, Central, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, Happy Valley etc. etc. The Kowloon side might have better shopping. The food at the hotel is some of the best in Hong Kong, the facility is top notch and in my opinion a bargin for what they charge. This trip I had meetings in Kowloon so I had my assistant book me into the Intercontinental after one night the construction noise and all of the refurbishment that was going on I actually moved back to the Mandrin, I won't make that mistake again. They have this really cool 50th. anniversary deal going on with lots of cool pictures etc.

Room Tip: Try the Indian restaurant for lunch on the ground floor it's to die for.

We recently returned from a 2 week visit to South East Asia that started in Hong Kong. Our first trip to this busy, crowded and very exciting city was made all the more special by our stay at the Mandarin Oriental. We had some concerns that we were making a mistake staying on the Hong Kong Island side of the city (vs the Kowloon side) but those concerns were forgotten even before our arrival, and completely dismissed once we set foot on the property. Simply stated, this is one of the finest hotels in the world. From check in (where we were personally escorted to our harbor view rooms), to the welcome tea service, to the constant attention and assistance from the exceptional concierge service (even before we arrived), we were made to feel like we were indeed very important guests. The rooms had all of the amenities you could want, and many you didn't know you wanted or needed until you had them at your fingertips. Who really needs electronically controlled window blinds, or tvs in the bathroom that swivel to allow for in the bath viewing?

The location of the hotel was also perfect. We were walking distance to everything we needed or wanted to do or see in Hong Kong. As we were not traveling on business, friends had suggested we were making a mistake not staying in Kowloon. I can honestly say that I disagree. We walked to the Peak Tram, to the Star Ferry terminal and to the Macau ferry terminal. We walked to dinners and when we returned from our visits to the Kowloon side, we were a short walk from the very efficient Hong Kong metro system.

The breakfast at the hotel was amazing. The best we experienced on the entire 2 week trip (and ALL of the breakfasts were outstanding). The Chinese, Japanese and western breakfast choices had us eating from all of them, leaving us too full for lunch on more than one occasion. The spa was equally as impressive, as we enjoyed massages and the facilities there as well.

The concierge assisted us pre arrival with ground transportation options and spa and dinner reservations and upon arrival with tickets for the Peak Tram (as well as advice as to which line to stand in which saved us tons of time), Macau Ferry schedules and wonderful dinner suggestions and reservations. Upon returning from our daily activities, the staff seemed genuinely interested in how our day or evening went.

The Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong is one of our favorite hotels anywhere.

Room Tip: high floor, harbor view were outstanding. We were traveling with children and had adjoining rooms.

Good place, but not all it is hyped up to be. We prefer the MO in Bangkok, which really has the wow factor, whereas we felt the HK MO was slightly light on the wow factor. Perfectly competent and all that, but i wouldn't rush to come back.

Stayed 4 nights and loved it. Great personal service and everything done with no fuss. We liked the casual Cafe Causette , well made pizzas, nasi goreng, Chinese food , salads or the usual western food. Also loved the buffet breakfast at the Clipper. I had Dim Sum and beautiful almond croissants. Also sweet, sweet pineapple and pineapple. So good.

The staff are so friendly and helpful and for my first trip, I could not have felt in safer hands. There is an excellent range of bars and restaurants here, and I was able to have many business meetings here, which assisted in logistics and a stress free visit. The hotel is central and it is very easy to get to many Central office blocks by the well signposted walkways and covered paths.

The room was very comfortable with plenty of equipment and features.

This was the first time that I stayed in a mandarin oriental hotel and I must say I wish I could always stay in them from now on! This hotel is fantastic, the service is phenomenal and the rooms are gorgeous . Guests feel really special in this place. All the little touches make this hotel perfect. Hermes toiletries , fluffy towels, lovely comfy slippers, beautiful Chinese tea making facilities in the room and a great sound system in the room. The location is also great, in the middle of the financial district and surrounded by great shops.
