I had been to this property before, but had never stayed there. We loved our Oriental Suite. It was such an inventive use of space. Although it is only 700 sq. ft. or so, it is divided into about five different areas: bedroom, living room, bathroom, dressing area and entry hall. Instead of feeling poky, as is possible, it felt incredibly clever and private. Our large bathroom was wonderful, with two huge sink areas and a large shower with Acqua di Parma products. Every room has an Nespresso, which was a great help with jet lag. Service was great.

A special feature of this hotel is the wonderful breakfast buffet. Try it. You will not be disappointed. It's the first place that I ever had whole wheat steamed buns...and they were memorable. Also, try the air yogurt. I'm not usually a yogurt fan, but this was a light take on yogurt, with wonderful fruit. I couldn't get enough. The rest of the pastries were top notch. All breakfast items were incredible. I don't know of a better breakfast than this in the world.

One small niggle...we stayed here on American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts rate. We were supposed to be upgraded if possible. Our first Oriental Suite was situated towards the back of the hotel, with no view to speak of. Very nice, but a little dark. When I inquired about a better view, they did give me the Deluxe Oriental Suite on a higher floor at no charge, with view of the harbor...but I was entitled to this anyway under the terms of the Amex rate. So I don't think I should have had to ask for a better view, when this upgrade was clearly available. It should nave been given automatically. I hope the MO will pay attention to the Amex rate and the benefits associated with that.

But other than that, the stay was brilliant, and don't miss breakfast. You will regret it!

Decided to return to the Mandarin for my 5th stay here - and once again it was perfection.
Ultra comfortable rooms, fantastic Hermes toiletries, nightly gifts ranging from lip balms to eye revitalisers - you feel special when you are a guest here.
Special thanks to concierge for all my restaurant reservations, for fixing my boots, for the pain killers at 3am - nothing was too hard.
Can't wait to return again, no other hotel in HK comes close.

My wife and I have stayed here several times previously, and the Hotel was always well run and efficient. This recent stay was even better. It seemed to us that the already efficient staff suddenly developed a personalityand a sense of humor. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. It was a most enjoyable stay. We shall return next year.

Spent the only night in Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong - and it's absolutely fantastic.

All staff are speaking very good English, reception is working blazing quick, location is in the very center of HK island (five minutes to Airport express via walkways, one to three minutes to the major shopping malls etc).

But the most amazing thing is room. Nice decorated, very comfortable, nice and quiet atmosphere made by good acoustics, all you need is there, including personal coffee machine, small gifts for 50th anniversary of a hotel.
It's just perfect to me.

Yes, it's expensive, but all good hotels in Hong Kong are expensive - and when we needed to have a room immediately, Mandarin Oriental was't the most expensive one.

If you can spend a lot of money - just live there.

Room Tip: I think all of them are good, but you can try a harbor view - it's fantastic at night

Got lucky at check-in as there was no line ... Quickly escorted up to my room, which had to be changed as the a/c was not working, but this was only a 2 minute wait. Got a room on the 23rd floor however not much of a view. Great bed and bathroom, excellent service overall and the location is very convenient to the MRT and airport express, for which I used both and found very easy to use and get around.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in The Oriental Suite in August, this is our third time at the MO. The suite is superb. Lovely separate entry foyer, the living room looked across the gorgeous HK Harbour, included a desk area with every accessory, gorgeous sumptuous seating, and beautifully decorated. The bedroom also has a TV. Walk in robe and separate robe storage in another area. Plenty of storage for clothes (we don't travel light), shoes, accessories, and luggage. The bathroom is out of this world. It has two separate vanities complete with every single toiletry you could possibly wish for or even think of. The toiletries are Aqua de Palma, in full sizes. They are replenished daily. Absolute luxury. Apparently Aqua de Palma only supply a very select number of hotels in the world despite being asked constantly. The shower has a rain shower on the ceiling and a double power shower head on the wall. Also a seat. TV in bathroom too. The toilet is in a frosted glass cubicle adjoining the bathroom and not too private, our only small dislike. The concierge is fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. We organised a private driver to drive us around HK Island and take us to places not on the tourist route. We also visited Repulse Bay and had lunch at a gorgeous restaurant. A super day out of the busyness of HK. We used the spa and beauty shop which are both top of the line. The spa uses Gaylia Kristensen products which are the world's best as far as I'm concerned. The bar, on the top floor, has one of the very best views of the harbour and great drinks too. It would be great if this hotel had a club lounge, we really missed that feature. We had room service twice and couldn't fault it. The food was fabulous, hot and fresh and served with silver service. Highly recommended. One suite benefit was the option to have breakfast in either of the on site restaurant/cafes or room service. We chose the room service and it was superb. You could order whatever you wanted. It really felt luxurious. Again, it was served on time, hot and fresh. Gorgeous linen cloth and napkins, and silver cutlery and food covers. Transfers are in an S class Mercedes with superbly professional drivers. The MO is perfectly situated on HK Island surrounded by the very best malls which you can access via covered walkways. Another fabulous mini break in HK and would highly recommend the MO. Again, only gripe is no club lounge.

Room Tip: If you can afford the Oriental Suite, go for it.

If you want to be spoilt then this is the place to stay . We had 3 nights and would happily of stayed longer if we could . We had stayed in mongkok ( Langham hotel ) to experience Kowloon and now we were in Central and we were not disappointed . From the moment we arrived we were spoilt . We were given an upgrade ( due to it being the end of our honeymoon ) and we had a wonderful room overlooking the harbour . All the rooms have been renovated and they have done a wonderful job . They have a little " nook " with a lovely large chair so my wife would watch the world go by while reading and she just loved it . The room has everything and you get spoilt each night with different oils to rub into feet, back etc ..just amazing . They even gave us a large bottle of champagne as it was our honeymooon ..need i say more ...Each morning we went down to the mezinine level and got pastries and coffee from the shop .....well if u ever find better pastries in the world ..please let me know!! you will find cheaper ones for sure as it is very expensive , but when you are in 5 star luxury land you are not going to find anything cheap . We used the bar on the top floor one night which was great and also visited the captains bar which was excellent . The service is fantastic and i think the only fault i can find with the hotel is having to pay 15usd per day for internet ., Surely when you are paying 500 bucks per night you could include internet . All in all an amazing hotel , great service and in a great local in Central . If you want to spoil someone special or simply spoil yourself ..this is the place to stay .
