Prince (Marco Polo Hotels)

Reviewed October 24, 2013

Stayed at Prince from 19 - 22 October. Room was big by Hong Kong standards. It is also very easy to get to the hotel via airport express.
Hotel Lobby is small though.
Check in was quick and front desk staff was friendly and efficient.
China Ferry Terminal is just next door so hoping over to Macau and other Chinese Cities is easy.

The hotel is linked to The Gateway, and other shopping malls in the area. As such, you have a range from H&M to Zara all the way the Hermes. Many dining options are available around the hotel as well.

Cons:
Some of the concierge staff may seem rude from the way they speak and through their facial expression.

Elegant, fresh, accommodating and located a few steps from the Star Ferry, Victoria Harbor and more shopping opportunities than you can fit into a day. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable King bed, beautiful marble bathroom with full amenities, and lots of nice extras added (fresh fruit, daily newspaper, free WiFi)
We had a teeny view of the harbor from our window and overall the room was quiet and a welcome "home" after hours off walking down Hollywood Road and through Stanley Market.
Best feature? Vienna, who made us feel welcome at every turn. She insured our comfort and suggested Hong Kong sights and experiences we might have missed. Great stay!

It was the second time to Hong Kong and we stayed at Prince. Design and furniture were old, price was high and location was far a bit. However, staff were very friendly and cooperative. Resturant was nice and has varaiety.

The Marco Polo Prince in Hong Kong is the perfect hotel for your business and /or leisure trip in Hong Kong. The hotel has been re-decorated last year and is in my opinion very good value for money. Big rooms with some of the most comfortable beds I've ever experienced in hotels.
Situated in the biggest shopping mall Harbour City with more than 700 shops right on Canton Road, it is only a 3 minutes walk away from the Macau and China Ferry terminal and 10 minutes to the MTR station at Tsim Sha Tsui.
But for me most important: Friendly, helpful staff, at the reception, in the restaurants and at the bar make you feel like you're at home.
Try the new restaurant add@prince (add stands for all day dining) where you can enjoy an asian buffet lunch or dinner at very reasonable price.
It's the placeto stay while in Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Try the suite with sea view. They are big and really comfortable.

Stayed for 10 nights with my family (10adults and 9 children) and this hotel is fantastic. The staff are a wealth of information and are courteous and extremely helpful. I could not fault their service. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We stayed in adjoining rooms. We were close to all forms of transport and shopping.

Been here for 3 nights and 4 more to go. This hotel is located in Kowloon on waterfront, but don't plan on getting a free upgrade to waterfront view, you will pay dearly! Rooms well equipped, you will receive 2 bottled waters in your room daily and we receive fresh fruit, but do not know if the fruit is the norm. Also comes with an electric pot that heats up water very quickly for tea or coffee which is also supplied.

Front staff very friendly, especially Phoenix, she facilitates the guests and won't make you wait long before finding out what you need so you are not waiting in the wrong line. Onsite Greyhound Tour desk and the hotel will offer you about $7.00 USD off the Big Bus Tour tickets which you actually buy from one of the many employees near the waterfront. I got the 2 day deluxe pass that I will review separately.

You get daily maid service and turn down service. NO Pool at this property but you can walk inside abou 5 minutes to their sister hotel the Marco Polo and use their pool showing your room key if you want to take a swim.

FOOD: Personally I think the cost of the breakfast buffet is a bit extreme at $26.00 USD per person plus 10% service fee!! The largest assortment is of Asian cuisine as well as an omlet station, cereals, breads, whole fruits, juices and meat choices like bacon, sausage. Servers are fantastic at breakfast.

6 minute walk to watch the 8 PM light show near wharf and this hotel is attached to an a/c mall with very high priced stores. Good for rainly days or just too hot to leave days!

Room Tip: Queen beds or two doubles in standard rooms, upgrade to waterfront views and they have King beds in...
