“Hong Kong 7's Weekend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

A big weekend, but the hotel seemed to manage with no apparent dramas. Perhaps service in the cafe at times not up to standard of other Novotels, but generally a satisfactory experience. Location very handy to Wanchai business and entertainment precincts and a pleasant walk to and from the Government Stadium.

We stayed here for the Hong Kong 7's this year in March 2013. It was allocated to us by our operator and we found it to be top quality. The only reason I have not given it a full rating is that it has not got a lounge to speak of where you can just sit. The hotel has a lovely bar but the cost of drinks is extortionate. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff work hard to keep it as such. The rooms are very comfortable although our double rom was a bit small. This did not detract from the comfort though and the queeen sized bed was wonderful to sink into after days at the the stadium. The breakfast is excellent served til 10.30 a.m. or so every day with a great range of fresh fruit and all cooked food whether traditional English or more exotic. The hotel is a about a 25 minute walk from the Hong Kong stadium but if you are staying here for the tournament do not rely on taxis to get you there. They simply refuse to go as it is so busy....something we were not aware of at the start. The location of the hotel is excellent for getting across to Kowloon on the Star Ferry and the train is again a short distance away. Buses and taxis are just outside the door making it easy to get around. The outside rooftop pool and spa are a real bonus although the pool was a little chilly when we visited. Overall it was a great place to stay and we would choose it again if we ever return.

Room Tip: Our room was great with typical awesome views of the bay.

This was my fifth stay in this hotel and while it maintains fairly high standards and has a great location somethings never change. While I tend to stay on the Premium Floors I like to eat breakfast in the first floor restaurant as it has a wider range of food and much better seating however it still has to perfect keeping the grilled bacon hot as it is nearly always cold. My second query is why the rooms do not have a bath as after a long ,exhausting day of being a tourist in HK I would love to relax in a bath. The showers are great but why do they still copiously leak onto the bathroom floor from the hinge side after all these years? Service is always helpful and I do always come back as I will again in late May and early July this year. I prefer to stay here than almost any other hotel in HK -a fair price and a great location.

This was my fourth visit to Novotel Century. Its location is very convenient as all my business contacts are within walking distance or short taxi rides.

The rooms are quite small, but this is probably attributed to limited space on Hong Kong island in general. All the standard features of modern hotel rooms are present incl. free internet access.

I will certainly use the same hotel for my next visit to Hong Kong again.

My wife and I were booked into this hotel for a holiday to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. What a good choice it turned out to be. From the moment we arrived we found excellence everywhere. The unexpected bottle of bubbly in the room and arrangement of roses was very much appreciated. The staff so attentive, helpful and friendly, the breakfast with its wide variation of foods, the room clean and modern, all these plus its location made it the perfect place for a first time visit. An easy walk to the ferry and the MTR meant we were able to see so much in the short time we had available.
We had a most enjoyable week in this exciting city and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

Have stayed here twice in the last two years while in Hong Kong for business, and both experiences have been the same, I think I may even have had the same room both times.
In terms of location, the hotel is in a good location in Wanchai, particularly if you are attending the Hong Kong Convention Centre (as it is cheaper than the hotels connected to the Convention Centre and close enough to be accessible).
It is also relatively close to the Metro, and so it is relatively easy to get around Hong Kong from the hotel.
My room was large and clean (I had a suite) and was always impeccably made up after every service. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well maintained.
The service in the hotel was overall pretty good.
I had room service most days and the food was simple but passable, but you don't go to Hong Kong for room service meals, so it didn't bother me.
Like another reviewer said, I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, it was a very comfortable stay while I was there and met all my expectations. I would stay again

We have been travelling to the 7s each March for the last 10 years and have stayed in various different hotels and locations but find this the most balanced from the position of locality, nightlife, accessible restaurants and the sports stadium. MTR station very near and Star Ferry to Kowloon is only over the extended bridge, a mere 500 meters walk.
The rooms are comfortable and serve the purpose admirably, rating high for cleanliness and comfort but losing out on space.
Breakfast is ample and varied, coffee bar and free wifi is also very useful, although the wifi can be slow at busy times.
The swimming pool and fitness centre is open until 10 pm and is small but very adequate.

Room Tip: Need to ask for non smoking room.
