The hotel has probably the best location in HK, if you are tourist. It is just next to the Sheraton HK, and across the street of the Peninsular hotel, at the tip of Kowloon, right next to the MTR Tsimshatsui (D exit). It is extremely convenient, and nice area.

The lobby of the hotel is in a shopping mall, a bit off the street of Nathan, but the sign is clear, so there is no problem to find the hotel, although the lobby is small. The staff is nice, ready to help. The room is very big (particularly in this part of HK), with a couch, and some sitting area, but the bathroom is very small, very clean though. The bathroom amenity is very simple and basic, I think this is a downside of the hotel.

I stayed in the hotel on points (PC plat), so I did not get lounge access, free internet and free breakfast, but got a free drink at the lobby bar. There were 3 small bottle waters in room (complimentary), was told I could get more if I like, good deal. Overall, the hotel is good, comfortable, clean, and in the best location in the city. If you book with money, it is expensive in my opinion. It is a 4-star hotel, up to Holiday Inn standard.

Room tip: There are many eatery in Jordon St area (walk north of Nathan St), which is about 10 min walk, the area is for locals, so it is affortable, and delicious local foods.

The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Close to MTR and all popular shopping areas. Easy access to star ferry. Very clean and well maintained. Surprisingly quiet although it is right on Nathan Road. The hotel is served by the airport express buses which is a very convenient way to get to/from airport. Closeness to MTR is a big plus, it is literally right next to the hotel. Mongkok, and yaumatei is within walking distance.

Room tip: Ask for two beds

HI Hong Kong Golden Mile is anything but Golden and the property is certainly showing it's age. It is long over due to be shutdown and have a major refurbishment. As PC Platinum benefits are minimal and they need to put some money in the property especially given the prices they are asking now a days. Location is good but for a similar price I would stay elsewhere until they do a complete renovation to bring it up to modern HI standards.

We have stayed at this hotel on almost 70 occasions over the past 20 years, so not unexpectedly we can refer to it as a home away from home.
Many of the staff know us by name, and even if it is some months since a previous visit we are always greeted by name.
Lower numbered rooms are away from Nathan Road and quieter.
There are a number of eating establishments and the buffet breakfast enough to last well past lunch time.

Its location is unbeatable, right on Nathan Road with a multitude of buses, barely 5 minutes walk to the MTR station, maybe 10 minutes walk to the Star Ferry, and also the Tsim Sha Tsui East station and trains into China.

There are many shops in close proximity, however be aware that there are tourist prices and there are other prices, so know your price before you start shopping, and bargaining.
Make sure the item you get is what you actually expect, and not some "local" model.

Adjacent to the hotel is Chungking Mansion with many legitimate, no coimmission foreign exchange outlets; don't go to others in the street who all charge commission and have much worse exchange rates.
You'll also find many small shops and restaurants in this building, but take care of your belongings, as you would anywhere you might travel.

Room tip: Away from Nathan Road is quieter; lower room numbers

Overall, we had a pleasant stay here. Best thing is the location, very convenient for sightseeing/shopping. We just walked to/from the malls, to/from the night market at Temple Street, as well as to the China Ferry Terminal (where we took the ferry to Macau after checkout). Also near Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. Efficient check-in and check-out, perhaps because my husband is a Priority Club member.

We only had one issue during our stay. We found a cut toenail on the carpet! I was walking barefoot and stepped on it. it's quite big & sharp, a cut big toe toenail. It seemed the carpet wasn't vacuumed well. We informed management, and hopefully housekeeping staff would take more care and effort in cleaning the rooms.
