“Great hotel, away from the crowded city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

The hotel is a good 45 minute taxi ride away from the airport and costs about HK$290. Located amongst high rise apartment buildings, the 47 storey Crowne Plaza feels very safe indeed and sits ontop of the PopCorn Shopping Mall (many stores and restaurants) and the Tseung Kwan O MTR station. I was greeted by friendly concierge and check in staff and allocated room 1506 which was very big for HK standards. The air conditioned room room was very modern and spotless with a massive comfortable King size bed, luxurious pillows and cozy duvet. Room amenities included coffee making facilities, mini bar, big screen flat TV with English movie channels (with Chinese subtitiles), BBC World etc, 24 hour room service, free shoe shining service. The open bathroom had a deep soak bath tub, large walk in shower with handheld shower unit and overhead rainfall shower, separate WC. Electronic privacy blinds came down at the touch of a button and a large mirrored sliding door ensured complete privacy if necessary. Complimentary tooth brush, tooth paste, shower gel, shampoo etc was renewed on a daily basis. Room service offered a slightly limited choice but all was delicious. There is an Italian Restaurant on the 47th floor, The Chefs Table and Chinese Restaurant are on floors 5 and 2. The Chinese restaurant served delicious Dim Sum (I had never tried Dim Sum before!) and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Being away from the downtown area, I knew that I would have to venture onto the MTR but was aprehensive due to being infamous for always getting lost on the London Underground. All I can say is that I mastered the MTR within a very short while and the next day was assisting Chinese tourists who did not know where they were going! By leaving the hotel through the lobby, turn left into the shopping mall, walk straight across to the MTR station and to the Customer Services desk. Purchase an Octopus card (minimum fee HK$150), go down the escalator and catch the Tseung Kwan O train to North Point where you change trains and get onto the Island line - most tourists head for Central. The ride from the hotel to Central takes about 40 minutes in total but costs only about HK$12.50. All in all I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would happily stay at the Crowne Plaza Kowloon East again if I ever returned to Hong Kong.

Love it love it love it to stay here !

Bed room is big in size , rarely you will get to stay in this size in HK.
Beds are comfortable, stayed in twin room and their beds are quite big (almost queen size) plus they have duvet for each bed.

Bath room is the best though, separated bath tub, rain shower, and toilet. with blinded or see thru window plus speaker for the tv so we can still hear the tv inside the bathroom

Lobby is nice, they provide free wife in the lobby.

Breakfast also very tasty and many variety to choose.

Didnt get to spend time in the swimming pool , although it looked so inviting !

Location is a bit far from the downtown, but MTR is close by and also the mall Popcorn is adjacent. They are also adjacent to Holiday Inn Express ( same chain hotel but its 3* budget hotel which is also now )

Overall I had an enjoyable stay here, love it !

The hotel is brand new. The lobby is impressive, much bigger and more luxurious than that of crowne plaza at causeway bay. The room is of the same level with causeway bay: very modern, spacious, perfect bathroom with separate shower, nice linens and towels. Restaurant and breakfast very good.

The location is far away from central HG but the hotel is conveniently attached to a shopping mall with a metro station at the basement. The area of the hotel is indifferent so you have to take the metro all time to go to TST or HG island to do business or have fun. I would stay here again if the rate remained too low compared to central areas.

The Hotel is indeed off the main Centers of Hongkong, but since taxi isn't that expensive and a MRT Station is just in the basement of the Shopping mall below, City trips are really not difficult to arrange.
The value for money staying in this new hotel was extremely high. The rooms are decorated very modern and materials used are very well chosen. We liked the bathroom with big stone tiles very much and enjoyed staying there.
We had a Club Room, offering the access to the top floor facilities like afternoon tea, cocktails with antipasti and last but not least the support of the extremely caring staff, you made our stay really outstanding.
If you do not need to hop from the city to the hotel continuously then this hotel is fantastic.
To chill out we would recommend this hotel very much.

Room Tip: Club Rooms will offer additional services

This hotel excelled itself for a group (47 people) of adult disabled and their chaperones last January 2013. It would be hard to say just what was the best feature for a group but here is an attempt without there being any preference in order.
1. The concierge team led by Vincent could not have been more helpful. Their respect and care for our charges was evident to all and we can only offer a big thanks.
2. Our special needs were always considered by management and hotel staff in respect to dining needs (the food by the way was first rate to say the least), rooms being mainly on the same floor - with those especially built with specialized bathrooms excellent in size meeting every need.
3. The hotel organised a coach and guide for our daily trips and this service was enhanced by our return each day to full undercover entry into the hotel which was wheelchair friendly and easily accessed.
4. Because of the nature of our group we had requested fridges be empty and this was accommodated
One could go on singing the praises of this establishment but in closing I would recommend the hotel to any group organiser planning to visit the region.

Special break in Hong Kong and my wife booked the hotel she had been to before, only when we got there it wasn't apparently this one was only three months old, and she had been to an older one in another part of HK. Lots of locals said how far out it was, but actually with the great Tube, Metro, MTR, or whatever it is you call it where you come from. Actually it was fast and easy to get wherever we wanted to go. So the Hotel, first class service, great rooms, very nice staff, little pricey in the restaurant but good. In fact I would most certainly book again. A new place on the block but what a great one.

The location is far away from busy Hong Kong and Kowloon area but it is no problem because there is MTR station nearby. You can reach Central in 15 min by MTR. The price is 40% lower than Crowne Plaza Causeway Bay and the room is bigger. As platinum member, the hotel really appreciates our loyalty by serving us free bottle of wine, room upgrade and one extra breakfast buffet. Even though the location is far but there are so many restaurant around, We even try California Pizzza Kitchen in the mall. So far we are happy with our stay.
