if you can get a decent rate, this is a good option in a city where few hotels offer particular value

rooms are small but internet is included and layout is clever

the breakfast is passable and internet is free

easy walk to Metro, center or Mid-levels

Spent a week in Hong Kong for work recently and stayed at the HIE.

All in all great. Lovely modern, well designed clean rooms that aren't huge but have everything you need including a great bed, armchair and a desk and chair to work at. The bathroom is cleverly designed with a fine shower.

Really the only let down is the dining room that is just far too small. This place has 50 floors and has a restaurant smaller than most backpacker hostels. You really don't expect to share your tables with strangers but you've no choice when it gets busy.

I wouldn't let it put you off...it's a cool place, they just need a rethink on the dining room.

Very good hotel with great location.
We were there for two nights.
It's new hotel so the prices are still low comparing to other hotels in HK.
The hotel is only 3 min. walk from the MTR, the service is good and the rooms are very clean.

There are several good Chinese restaurants on the street, and some nice bars as well.

I Recommend to avoid the breakfast the hotel offers- it wasn't good at all and there are many places close to the hotel where you can find some great food and coffee in a better price.

Room Tip: Ask for the highest floor available- the view is great!

The room is nice and clean and the space is big if comparing to most hotels in this level in HongKong. The location is good too - walk distance to subway and close to most attractions in HK island and IFC.
Breakfast is OK; the only not that good thing is the dining area is small, comparing to the amount of guests. So it's often very crowd and sometimes you have to wait in a queue to get a table.
Beside this everything is good with this hotel.
Another big plus to book this hotel is that the free bus from the Airport Express HongKong station has this hotel as one of its stops on the route. It's very convinent for people who want to check in to the hotel from the Express train.

My first time in Hong Kong. Excellent location! Room was new! As to be expected rooms are on very high floors. Great views. Beware as to be expected in Hong Kong, the rooms are small. Free WIFI, which was very fast an efficient. Would forsure stay here again. Close to subway.

Really had a great time staying in this hotel during my last trip to HK. Highly recommended place to stay for those who planning to travel to hong kong. This place is only few minutes away from MTR sheung wan and walkable distance to macau ferry terminal ( for outbound to macau). If you have airport express pass, there is free shuttle bus in Hong Kong station to take you to the hotel.
The hotel is small but clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpfull. Free WIFI in every room is a bonus!

I would have given this hotel a 4 star rating if it was actually a little closer to the Soho district and had a few more amenities like a fitness room and pool. It is just a short walk away from the Sheung Wan MTR station and about 10 min walk from shopping and restaraunts/bars.

Basics is what you'll get; the room is small but comfortable; the bathroom is clean and modern with the shower door doubling as the bathroom door; the room had a small workstation with wifi or wired access available. Queen bed was firm but comfortable. The lobby is tiny; don't expect to linger there long.

The restaraunt on 2nd floor serves a breakfast buffet and a Thai menu for lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet was always crowded which can make for some less than polite guest behavior during busy holiday weekends. There is a "great room" on the 3rd floor, which really is just an internet lounge with a few free computers to use, some local magazines and a vending machine.

Overall a decent budget value and base camp from which to explore Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Rooms above the 25th floor or so will have spectacular views of either Victoria Peak or Hong Kong Ha...
