I have eaten in Hong Kong in many restaurants. This happens to be near the office I frequently visit in Hong Kong. The dim sums are superb and the rest of the menu will not disappoint you. The service, as customary in Hong Kong is superb and unlike in many other places in the city, also subtle. As someone who ate in many other Chinese restaurants, I can say that it may be on my top 3 ever for dim sum,

A chinese restaurant located in a hotel, but not run by it, offering above-average to very good food, and drinks.

Fresh off the 'plane, we felt too tired to bother going out of the hotel (Harbour Grand Kowloon) so decided to try here. First signs were not too encouraging as only one other table was occupied. We reasoned that many hotel guests would have eaten earlier.

Our waiter was eager to please but kept trying to serve our (chilled) wine while we still had our pre-dinner drinks so his supervisor removed him and took over herself.

The menu looked excellent - they have set out recommended multi-course menus and we decided to go for one of those. The food was excellent, every course was interesting, full of flavour and well presented.

The only thing was the service was a bit strange. I'm used to a lack of engagement and involvement, probably due to cultural differences, but here they brought the food then stood only a few feet away and watched us eating. As soon as a plate was emptied it was whisked away, even though my wife hadn't finished hers. Maybe they think that represents very efficient service, but we just found it a bit creepy.

We so enjoyed the food and I would love to give 5 stars but the service thing just felt wrong. Would love to go again really, but there's probably another 2 or 3 (thousand) Chinese restaurants in HK to try first! Most of the others would be cheaper too.
