This restaurant has nothing to do with the concept of Michelin Stars. I have travelled all over Europe and visited many restaurants with Michelin stars. Of course there are differences but you always found the basic elements in these restaurants: Food quality and cooking, serving of the meal and the general arrangement and decoration etc. in the restaurant. The Celebrity Cuisine did not meet one single of these qualities.

Having travelled from Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok and visited a large number of restaurants I have really enjoyed very many locally composed dishes, tastes and flavors. But here I met poor food served by people who have never served before in a simple store like room and at an outrageous price.

It is a catastrophe that Michelin can put its name and reputation behind this restaurant!

“Nothing Fancy, Just Good Old traditional Cantonese finely-tuned to 2 star greatness!”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Ambience :
Nothing much, purple wallpaper but with thick carpet managed to keep the usual
boisterous tone typical in a chinese rest down,,,,

Service :
Service staff was efficient and patient. But the place was packed on a weekday night
so it is very necessary to make a reservation and reconfirm it the day before.

The food :
First the complimentary radish cake was well-done with slivers of radish adding a
good crunch to the starch. The XO sauce with its generous shredded scallops was so
good that we finished 2 plates of it.

Pipa toufu - crispy outside, soft toufu inside with slivers of fish - simple and
nice,,,liked it that it is not overwhelming and allow the simple toufu taste to be
the way it is,,,

Crispy chicken wing stuffed with bird nest, this is chef kam fu's signature, the
chicken was so crispy and yet, the birds nest inside was also very generous but
strangely the birds nest is not tasty in its own,,,

Bird's nest congee - this is a long passed down palatial dish,,,this congee has no
rice at all, just pure bird nest cooked in a savory thick sauce and laced with
minced patridge just for texture,,,decadence but so nourishing and yummy,,,

Crispy pigeon - crispy, robust and with the salt and pepper, perfect.

Signature fried rice - the rice was dry and every single grain was coated with egg
and well air-fried with wok-hei, very good fried rice,,,,

Deserts :
Birds nest with rock sugar - very generous bowl of birds nest done simply with a
slight tinge of rock sugar but not so much as to overwhelm the birds nest

Red bean paste - nothing fancy, typical.

Complimentary almond tea - creamy, yet light and aromatic - this is a clear winner,,,

Conclusion :
Chef Kam Fu is a very down-to-earth chef who takes pride in his work and makes it a
point to sit and chat with his patrons like an old friend. His cooking is
traditional and yet with flashes of creativity, enjoyable! it is not expensive considering the amount of birds nest that is in the dishes.
