We were recommended to try the Harbour Restaurant by a woman artist who lives and has a gallery in the Central District and eats at this restaurant regularly.

We went on the last night of our honeymoon and were glad we did. As others have said it's an unpretentious place, full of Chinese, not tourists, with a wide range of good food served quickly and cooked to order.

The twinkly lights of the harbour are just over the road and Kennedy Town is well away from the bustle of Central and the usual tourist haunts, but there's a cab rank outside the restaurant and it's well worth making the trip.

Visited this small restaurant in Kennedy Town, Hong Kong twice in a week. It sits right on the waterfront in Kennedy Town, about to develop into a modern part of the city, but still quite old and undeveloped. You get there easily by HKs two storey trams for HK$ 2,30 (USD 0,3, Euro 0,2). Taxis also very cheap, well worth the ride.
We found it by chance. Theri food is extremely fresh and made to order by a ten person kitchen staff.
Waiters friendly and quick.
Try the wokfried scampi with a creamy horseradish sauce and sliced almond. Drop the rice and just enjoy!
Or the sesame grilled chicken (whole or half).
Friendly atmosphere, quite busy. While not the cheapest place on HK Island, prices will not dent a visitor´s budget much. Most expensive meals around 17 USD.

Kennedy Town is pretty far out from the Central scene. We were staying at the Dorsett Regency there, and wanted an authentically Chinese meal, nearby, but at least with an English-language menu available. Your choices in Kennedy Town are somewhat limited; its focus appears to not be on tourists.

Fortunately this restaurant was just down at the end of the street and offered very tasty food. The staff was very patient with us and even took pity on our modest chopstick skills ---providing an unrequested serving spoon -- without making us feel embarrassed. It was yummy, and a convenient way to get a local taste our first night in Kennedy Town.
