We had dinner at One Dim Sum tonight and it was definitely one of the best yum cha restaurants we have been to. The location was easy to find; you get off at exit A from Prince Edward station and you end up on Playing Field Road, you turn right and walk for about 2 minutes and then you will see One Dim Sum.

The owner was very friendly, he explained the menu items and gave us recommendations as well as a book with pictures of the dishes. We ordered 8 dishes between the two of us, some of the dishes we had were: beef balls, prawn dumplings, steamed veal, glutinous rice and pork spare ribs. Everything was excellent.

The best thing about this restaurant was it's value, only $130 HKD for 8 dishes! This is only around $17 USD. It's an absolute steal at this price!

I highly recommend this little cafe for a great tasting and cheap meal out.

For anyone who likes authentic cantonese dim sum, reasonable priced, good service and don't mind the deco this is made for you. This has to be our family favourite dim sum place. No pretencious gimmick, cheap in price, good ingredients and tasty food. The boss (we suspect he is the boss) is super friendly and for a small establishment, it has many staff and you never have to wait to signal a waiter to help you. The dim sums are how I remembered tasting as a kid and do away with all the so called fusion, or unecessary expensive, fashionable ingredients like goose liver, just good honest cantonese dim sum. No choice for tea but that's OK, good old pu li to help digestion. All the usual choice of har gaw (shrimp dumpling), siu my (pork dumpling) and char siu pow are all recommended. But one item you absolutely cannot miss is the sweet fried pastry with treacle.. Fabulous, you will not be able to eat another from other restaurants. I think for visitor on a budget, this is definitely recommended with courtesy from a local.

This little cafe serves delicious dim sum, a must for any keen foodie - but be prepared for a long wait and blend in with the local people - and then be rewarded with first class dim sum. We were very grateful for the advice on what to order. Make sure you get your ticket for your table first and then be prepared to wait. I'm very pleased that I did!
