“Probably the best view you can get”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Upon arrival at Victoria Peak, most tourists would pay an additional fee just to visit the "highest point": up on Sky Terrace 428.

However if you walk slightly further down from the bust of the Peak, one can find the Lion's Pavillion overlooking the buildings and view of Hong Kong.

This panoramic view of the city is one of the best view you can get and probably comparable to the sky terrace 428. With an unblocked view of the city, photos are made better with the pavillion set- up.

“Panorama and Shopping”

Very good views; lots of dining and shopping options at The Peak; we visited during the daytime and had a leisurely snack at The Starbucks. Has also a HKTB office with very helpful staff.

“Time it for a nice day to maximise experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

Not being familiar with Hong Kong, we found it a bit tricky using public transport to get there. We inadvertently ended up catching a double decker bus up the winding streets to the top, rather than the cable car. It turned out to be a great idea because, after travelling back down on the cable car we saw the hoards of people and huge lines waiting to go up. The Peak is a pleasant experience, we didn't have the time to wait for a clear day, so went up regardless. It was misty at first, then fine patches emerged enough for us to absorb the magnificent views of the city. The amenities were great, lots of shops and food outlets, and the viewing platforms and surrounding lush bush was lovely. It was well worth the effort.

“"Ï'm on the top of the world...looking down on creation"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Can't help but singing this tune when standing on the top of the Peak looking down at one of the world's most marveled city. Whatever way you choose to ascend to the top, whether it is the bus or tram you must choose to pay the little extra on the tram to gain entrance to the observation deck. When you get off the tram you just keep going up and up the escalators to the top to a closed wrap around deck where you quickly become breathless and speechless. When you walk through the doors you feel as if you have just gained entry to heaven. Make sure your camera batteries are charged because your camera will be in overdrive and smoking as you try in vain to capture the magic and aura from the Peak. I just hope it is a clear day or night for you, otherwise looking down on clouds will give you a misty impression of one of the world’s best views. One the best things, of course are that experiencing the thrill from the tram ride and the breathtaking view at the top is that it is in everyone’s budget. There’s so much to be said for being at the top of the world and getting there at such a rock bottom price. Don't miss the Peak....
If you do go up by bus you can still gain entry to the observation deck. You just need to purchase the ticket up there. Make sure you give yourself a little or a lot of extra time when you decide you want to come down. The lines/queues can be quite long.
