Owner description: Go beyond tours. Come with us on a private, personal walking and food experience that gets you inside Hong Kong. Walks by professionals, not tour guides. Just three guests, maximum. There's no other company like us in Hong Kong, and we're proud to be recognized by the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Time Out, the Luxe Guide and the Chicago Tribune. If your time in Hong Kong is short, why waste a minute on a cookie-cutter group tour? Get personal, and learn about Hong Kong and what makes it tick from award winning professionals, food and travel journalists. We work with you to design a Hong Kong experience that's perfect for you. If you like culture and history, then it's back streets, hidden temples, old Chinese neighborhoods--even a haunted house! If you love Chinese food, then get ready to indulge, because that's our specialty. Hong Kong has tens of thousands of restaurants and noodle shops, but we've located all the best and we're sharing our secrets with you! (We speak and read Cantonese, so no worries about Chinese-only menus.). Whatever your profession or interest, we can craft a program that will give you the useful information and local intelligence you need to feel at home in Asia's most cosmopolitan city. Our director and your host, Daisann McLane, has unparalleled experience in finding and getting to the heart of the world's great places. She's an award winning travel journalist with National Geographic Traveler, and before that spent six years roaming the world as the New York Times' "Frugal Traveler" columnist. She fell in love with Hong Kong: she wants you to fall in love with this great city, too.

“Adventures in Hong Kong”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

Thank you to Charmaine for a wonderful tour. It was great to see behind the usual tourist glam to see some of the real Hong Kong. We wouldn't have found any of the eateries by ourselves, and it was a delight to travel around the back streets with someone who knew and uinderstood the history and significance of them. The tour was done at our pace and would have deviated where and when we wanted. It was especially relevant with Charmaine sharing her experiences as a younger person living in Hong Kong and trying to make ends meet. We would have no hesitation recommedning this tour to other people.

Thank you, Johannes Pong, for the fabulous time spent with you in Hong Kong. What a treat to see and eat the local food. The visit to the hotel kitchen and meeting chef was amazing. Thank you. Would recommend everyone with an interest in different foods and cultures to do a walking tour. The meals were well chosen and most interesting.Fantastic!!!!

“Fantastic tour, best part of our stay in HK”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

I'm pretty adventurous with food and travel, but taking this tour with Janice was the highlight of my trip. We went to places that we would have NEVER, EVER seen on our own. She took us where the locals eat and we ate among them. The food tour was absolutely fantastic and it was really an adventure. We enjoyed Janice so much we took another tour with her a few days later and saw another side of town. Janice has a lot of knowledge about the culture and history of Hong Kong. I would highly recommend this trip. Worth every dollar.

“Great tour, but expensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

My wife and i spent 5 hours with Janice who was really wonderful. She has a great personality and is a font of knowledge both about the city and most especially about the food. Our walk took us past temples and markets in a very unspoiled area of Hong Kong. While it is true that you can do the tour by yourself, it wouldn't be nearly as enlightening or fun.

The only real issue that I have is the cost. It is very expensive, but of course we knew that going in. I would say that somewhere between $50 and $75 would be more reasonable. Other than that, I would most heartily recommend the tour.

“Hong Kong experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

We had a fabulous walking tour of the dried fish markets herb markets and several temples that we would have never seen if not for our expert guide! The dim sum lunch was superb. Our afternoon tour of outdoor markets and a town of true unspoiled Hong Kong was also enlightening!
Would highly recommend one or both of these excursions.
