New way of tasting chinese cuisine, hot pot diner is better enjoyed with 4 or 8 people sitting around a round table. You order a broth to cook your meat and vegetables , usually slices of porc, beef, squid, gambas skewers, tofu rolls or frozen, dumplings. There is a tray of condiments which you select to mix up with your soya sauce in front of you : wasabi , various chilli, green onions, fresh garlic or fried garlic. You put your meat and veg inside the steaming hot pot and wait for it to cook before fishing it out onto your plate. The long chopsticks are for dropping and collecting your food into and from the pot, the short chopsticks are for eating , the net is for collecting your food in the pot. You usually drink sake or beer. Plain water is served steaming hot in a glass full of ice cube to make sure the water has been boiled !

Reservation 2 or 3 days in advance necessary for the 6:30 pm seating to leave by 8:45pm. The light show across HK island starts every evening at 8:00 pm so plenty of time to enjoy your meal and the view. The next seating at 9:00 pm is very popular as prices on the menu go half price except any sea food according to our local friend. Dim sum in the afternoon is also highly recommended by locals. It is expensive in the way that a normal diner in an ordinary restaurant (4/5 dishes including lobster and fish) for 8 would usually cost 1200 HK $ , here we paid double that amount for this hot pot meal.

It's classy, food is top quality and very healthy, you got great view and attentive service (except waiters leave your bottle of drink in plain plastic bucket without ice when not yet opened and you need to get their attention to get one opened !). A good way to celebrate your holidays in HK with a memorable evening !

2 other restaurants from the same chain on Jordan road in Kowloon and one located in the Food Forum , Times Square at Causeway Bay. This one is much better at night for the view over HK island !

We had chosen a bouillon of 1000 year egg and clear broth, fresh veggie, tender beef, fish balls, fried tofu, dumplings
They gave us a plate of tasty paste to make our own sauce for this hot pot. yummmmmmyyyy

Chinese hot pot is such a sociable way of eating - you end up eating, cooking and talking for hours - yet the meal is still light and healthy as you cook fresh ingredients in broths and soups (no grease or fat).you can choose between a large range of food to cook at your table - we had a bit of everything: sea food, beef, vegetables, dumplings and more.

At this place you can watch the Victoria harbour light show while you eat!

A MUST TRY while in Hong Kong!

We spend New Year's eve here with our friends and had a great view of the New Year pyrotechnic show from the 23rd floor restaurant. The food was excellent too - we had some sushi salmon to start and then a selection of beef and prawn dumplings with a mountain of assorted vegetables. You can choose the type of broth your food is cooked in - either going for one or two varieties. We had plain broth and a satay one which really complemented the food. A really great night and fantastic way to start 2013.
