From the header you can determine that 1/I lack imagination or 2/ this place is good!
208 has great decor, soft lights with blue and white portuguese style tiles, with wood and marble thrown in. It's cool, and in HK it stands out. It's in an area of Hollywood Road where there is little else in terms of dining or bar scene, so you come here just for this.
I come here for the pizza. For me it's one of the best if not the best in HK. In HK a lot will depend on the humidity in the air which affects the pizza dough, however I find the pizza here so good that after having had one I say "who wants to half another one with me?"
Staff is friendly and generally efficient. Mattia the new manager is attentive and will take care of you, as well as the new bar manager Rodgrigo. It's always nice to go to a restaurant whcih has a more personal touch.
Prices are acceptable, and there is generally a deal of some sort, like the $208 +10% on a pizza and two glasses of wine they currently have (Aug 2012).
If you are taking someone on a date, or have a more formal occasion, then upstairs is where you get a tablecloth a wider menu. I prefer the buzz of downstairs, the shared high tables, the view of the street.
Next time I will try the lunch buffet downstairs or set lunch upstairs. I'll give it a couple of days I guess, surely there are other good places in HK!
