“Iove love Saint-Germain”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2012

In Happy Valley there is a wonderful restaurant/bar run by the warmest people I've met in Hong Kong... not only do they have an amazing menu, manager and chef-- but the staff are some of the nicest I've met since arriving to HK. Having moved from Chicago to Hong Kong for the summer, and not having any friends here, I have been so lucky to get to know Olivier and Candy at Saint-Germain. My favorite dish is their truffle ravioli... they also serve a lovely Rose, and their desserts are a work of art. It's an open air cocktail lounge, and so charming and friendly... I visit them a few times a week. If you're looking for first class dining, amazing ambience and good cheer, visit Saint-Germain!

“nice place, food awful”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2011

This place looks nice, waiters are professional but the food was just disgusting.... no other words for it. Maybe they were having an off nite but out of 4 starters 2 ( the snails ) were tasteless and greasy, and the other 2 were smoked salmon which is hard to screw up; and of the main courses again 2 ( the cod and the beef - tough tough cheap meat ) of the 4 were really really bad ...... and then the pudding was blatantly reheated tart tatin...... fine if you're charging 20 HKD but they are not !!! Ho hum. 2900 HKD for 4 people would have been top end even if it had ben good !

“Good brasserie experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2011

Saint Germain is still fairly new and is not yet fully in its stride...service is a bit clunky and the kitchen is not quite there yet. But it's promising. There are not a lot of French brasserie style options in HK...there is some good French food but much tends to be upper end and a bit fussy. Saint Germain is closer to The Press Room but a more intimate atmosphere. Food was solid although a bigger wine list would be appreciated. Will be back to see how it is going.
