You may be paying more for your food here compared to other Chinese restaurants but you're paying for the atmosphere and service, as well as good Cantonese oriented food.

Our table of 4 had Peking Duck (2 courses), sharks fin soup (sorry), typhoon shelter prawns, kailan and fried rice. Everything was fantastic.

Definitely would recommend this restaurant for those wanting to eat in a posh Chinese restaurant which is decidedly different from many typical Chinese restaurants which are crowded, noisy and lacks decent service.

We have also eaten lunch at Kowloon Tang in Elements, which is decorated the same but has outdoor seating. Kowloong Tang feels a bit more casual. I think both are comparable in terms of food but Kowloon Tang does have souffle and other interesting desserts.

This is great food in a slightly odd location, on the first floor of a not especially ritzy mall in Central. You wouldn't got for the view (there isn't one) or the hip and fashionable crowd (there isn't one). The decor is 30s Shanghai and very bright, which we found a bit disconcerting at night but is apparently typical - it made us feel that lunch might be better here than dinner. Having got the mild negatives out of the way, the food was fabulous: we had the grilled jumbo prawns, the crispy roast chicken and the scallop and prawn dim sum. Service was excellent - considered, very helpful, and happy to give a definitive opinion when asked. The whole place has a slightly old world charm. Just don't order the house wine by the glass: HK$200 per glass for very ordinary stuff, at least 75% more than we've paid anywhere else at dinner.

went there twice in a row for business dinner...
they have different room size to accommodate different number of people and i thought that is really thoughtful of the restaurant as the restaurant is not very big.
the deco is poshy in the main dining area, but each of the function / private room is in retro deco, with a ceiling fan....
the food is excellent and they have a wide range in the menu for guest's selection... though they belong to the pricey range of restaurant, but i am sure all the guest will walk away feeling worth it... hmmm... start to miss the food...

Love the atmosphere. Smart, sophisticated. Love the dim sum. My favorites were barbecue pork buns, shrimp dumplings, Shanghai dumplings, green beans. I can't wait to return!

Although located within the Galleria and without views, this is a lovely elegant restaurant worthy of its reputation. Its not cheap but food was of a high standard, beautifully presented and excellently served. The menu is extensive but the waiter was on hand to provded advice when we asked for it and was extremely helpful throughout our evening in a quiet and professional manner. If you're looking for a smart night out in Central with great food and relaxed elegant surroundings, book Island Tang, we will certainly visit again.
