“Strong start to new outlet!”
Reviewed March 31, 2014 via mobile

A big fan of the original in Kennedy Town and have now twice recently tried the new Soho branch. Kitchen quality remains excellent, and they did not miss a beat! Cod fish brandade, mussels, pate, olives etc. all excellent starters. Bouillabaisse, lamb, slow-cooked beef all excellent mains. Ask about the specials, as David usually has something new in the kitchen... but not enough portions to add to the menu. Service still needs a bit of work, with season staff a familiar pleasure... and some of the newbys a bit clueless. Won't detract from your experience... and may likely provide some comic relief. Enjoy!

“there are three outlets close to each other”
Reviewed September 19, 2013 via mobile

If you are looking for the dining room, it is across the street from the taxi stand. If you cannot find it, ask one of the other two outlets.

My review is for the fine dining restaurant. I went there for dinner. It is a terrific small restaurant with very high ceiling. The food is excellent and service is very attentive.

The mussels are very tender and juicy. The hamburger is also amazing. A friend of mine said it is likely the best in HK.

We ordered a number of dishes to share so we can sample a large variety. You should try it. It is not an expensive place. It is also opened for lunch.

Better call ahead for reservation because it gets very busy on weekends.

“Great boulangerie in an up and coming neighborhood”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Boulangerie is tucked away in the corner. Every time I am in Hong Kong, I go there to have a cup of coffee, a croissant and a dessert!
It's a tiny place that is producing great results. The products are baked on location and one can sometimes see the croissants being made! Though a small place, they offer both indoor and outdoor seating.
They also serve alcohol, which is a plus!

“Best bread in town”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

It seems that two places are listed here as one, and the reviews are for both. It actually is two places and although they belong to the same owner, one is the real restaurant, the other one is a Boulangerie. They are situated on two different sides of the same block of buildings. The restaurant, easy to find on the Davis str, and the Boulangerie, hides around the corner, facing the harbour. The Boulangerie is truly a little perl in Kennedy town. One of the best baguettes, sour dough bread and pastries in HK. Try their brioche with a vanilla caramel spread aside, its addictive. Or eclairs, mmm... Despite the prices, which are European, it is still so worth it. I suppose the prices keep some people away, but then, one can have a quiet breakfast outside or even better, on the second floor, accompanied by nice jazz. You can also 'book' your baguette or bread as it all sold out pretty fast.
I don't give it a 5 as the service still needs some trimming, but again, it all can be forgiven as the bread one comes there for is just perfect.

“Good place for business lunch”
Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

The set lunch is good value and high quality. This is probably the best restaurant in Kennedy Town which is less than 10 minutes from IFC in a cab. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was that I think they could vary the set menu a bit more often. If you are going for the first time then that is fine but if you go back again too soon then you might not have enough variety to try something different.
