We stayed here for 5 days with my husband and two kids, the room is clean and you are free to cook and take note of the free rice:-) walking distance from shopping centers. Plus the care taker Ate Yolly who's a Filipina was very accommodating and nice and take note also of their discounted tickets for Disneyland, ocean park and cable rides and Macau and Zhenzhen trip..we will definitely go back here again next year for another trip.

we stayed at nathan road branch. nice place to stay for a cheap price. I went to hongkong with my co-workers last Feb. 04, 2012. We stayed at Taisan guest House for 4 days. For me it was a nice to stay if you are on a budget. The place is a long nathan road and nice location. right in front of the building is a bus stop( we never have trouble carrying our baggages on our way to the airport) and just a few steps away is the MTR station its really very accessible. As for the rooms small but clean( though the sheets and blankets are over used) The caretaker there is a filipina from Pampanga. Nice lady. she sell tickets on dicounted price like peak tramp and disneyland so you will not have trouble fall in line just to get tickets(because it is such a very long line). And plus you are allowed to cooked food in the hotel, every morning there is free rice offered to the guest. but the heater in our room is not functioning well( this is the only thing i can complain of because it was very cold in the morning). If you are looking for a cheap but nice place to stay i recommend this place. In hongkong you have to walk, walk and walk to explore the places, so for me a a quite and safe place to go home at night and a nice bed to sleep on is all i need in hongkong. This is a nice place to stay if you are looking for a quite, clean, accessible and safe place to stay.

anotherv tip : Buy octopus card( 150HK$ it has 100 load and 50 is refundable) its a great help to save on fares and you can use to buy at 7/11. in hongkong if you ride bus it should be exact fare, you can not get your change because you drop it in a box.

We stayed at Harilela Branch of Taisan Guesthouse last Feb. 17-20, 2012. We were a group of 6 adult and 1 7 year old. Booking was fast. Ken was able to send a reply within the day and clearly told us that their Burlington Branch is fully booked. I was able to stay at their Burlington Branch last year and I must say that it is my first choice of branch with Taisan. Ken was able to accomodate us with their Harilela Branch and when we arrived the location, it is better than their Burlington Branch. Its new and I was able to get a good sleep after a long day of shopping and tours.

Back in 2008, they do not require us to send a downpayment but this year Ken informed me to give a 1 night downpayment to reserve the room. I sent the payment via Paypal and right then we booked our rooms. Hassle free indeed. :)

Up to now I still have no complains with this guesthouse. They still continue to provide good rooms/services to their guests. :)

Room Tip: Any room is good but I'd prefer the rooms with a view (with windows)

I know the rooms are cheap but they charged us additional H$100.00 per night with out any reason. They said every body knows about this additional H$100.00 per night.

Cockroaches? Yes! I saw 1 on our first night and on our third night.

I will never go back to that place. B1 15th Floor The Burlington House, Nathan Road, Hong Kong.

stayed at taisan guesthouse granville branch last may 10-13,2011.siti,the one who maintains the branch is very approachable and helpful.she provided fresh towels every day as well as other toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste and bath soap. the room is very clean and the view is great. free internet for every room is a plus. local calls are also allowed. its location just a few steps from mtr TST B1 is just awesome. there is enough room for your luggage in a twin room. i also felt secured in the area around the guesthouse when i was there. the price of every room in their website is all-inclusive, therefore, you need not worry about additional charges. they also offer discounted entrance tickets for tourist spots in hk.

Stayed at Taisan HARILELA branch last Nov2011 for 3 nights.
Upon check in, we were greeted by a cockroach on one of our beds! It was ok then, we thought maybe its just one so we didn't mind. BUT on our 2nd day, coackroaches are coming out so we were a bit bothered, we borrowed an insect spray from the housekeeper, after we sprayed our whole room and under our beds, more coackroches came out!!!!!! So we requested to be moved to a different room as we don't want to sleep with cockroaches for 2 more nights! Unfortunately, they were fully booked! :( Anyway, It was a good stay if not for those COACKROACHES!

Positive:
1. Very convenient location - near Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, near A21 Bus station (going to and from the airport), near stores and restaurants - stores: giordano, esprit, H&M in silvercord, the gateway mall etc. restaurants: delicious kitchen, ebeneezer, tectonic pizza?! -super delicious carbonara!! :)
2. Cheap
3. Free drinking water
4. Towels are changed daily
5. Clean bathroom - can you believe, no cockroach in their bathroom! :)
6. Desktop computer with internet inside our room

Negative:
1. A LOT of cockroaches in our room- we killed around 7-10!!!
2. Very OLD elevators
3. We have to remove our shoes / slippers before we come inside the guest house

For Budget travellers to Hong Kong, you can choose to stay in Honk Kong or Kowloon. If

Kowloon is your choice, Tsim Sha Shui is highly recommended.

This guesthouse is located in the great location for you to walk around or to travel to the

other destinations via Bus ,MTR ,Ferry and Airport Express. Moreover, the various shopping

centers ,food restaurants and some museums are within your walking distance.

The room in Burlington Branch are clean but small. Most of her clients are Thais and

Philippines. The housekeeper is Indonesian who has rather unfriendly to her clients.

I stayed 5 nights here on the 9 th floor, not the 15 th floor, on Nov.-2011. The overall

was very good for me and I ' ll still stay here for my next trip.

Room Tip: You can choose the room with or without the windows. The reservation should be 4-6 months in advance...
