“A different view within the city”
Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

Last July 2013, I went with my mom and aunt for a short vacay in HK. It was not part of the itinerary. However, my 2 elderly companions enjoyed as much as I did when we visited the gardens. A refreshing view after the hustle and bustle of city romps. Must see for a change.

“Very near Nan Lian Gardens and Chi Lin Nunnery”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

It is just as described by travellers - take the MTR going to this place to find Nan Lian and Chi Lin.

“beautiful gardens and nunnery”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

As you go out of the MTR Diamond Hill station there are signs to Nan Lian garden. It is a relatively new constructed garden and nunnery, so in my eyes it does not have the same charm as an old place, but nevertheless it is beautiful and worth the trip. The trip may be combined with a stop at the previous MTR station, Wong Tai Sin , and a visit to the colorful Sik Sik Yuen temple. Again, relatively young place but has a beautiful garden.

“District in Kowloon: Location of the excellent Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden attractions”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

Diamond Hill is an area in north Kowloon and is the location of two of Hong Kong's best (and free) attractions - the Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Gardens. Both are routinely considered top ten attractions in Hong Kong by Tripadvisor and other travel guide publications for Hong Kong and are worth a visit when coming to Hong Kong.

Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden can be visited together as they are collected and linked by a bridge, which crosses Fung Tak Rd. They are within a five-minute walk from the Diamond Hill MTR station.

There is a small, shopping mall called Hollywood Plaza that sits just outside the Diamond Hill MTR Station. Not one of our favorite shopping malls in Hong Kong and designed to cater more for the local neighborhood instead of tourist shoppers, this still makes a good place for lunch or a break from walking after you've visited nearby Chi Lin and Nan Lian. We usually stop at the Starbucks for a coffee here after our visits.

Diamond Hill has a bus terminus at the Hollywood Plaza shopping mall, but is reach most easily by using the MTR and just exiting at Diamond Hill.

Nearby you can also find the Wong Tai Sin district, which hosts one of Hong Kong's most interesting temples - the Wong Tai Sin Temple, found at the Wong Tai Sin MTR station, just one stop away from Diamond Hill. This makes for a attraction that can be quite easily combined with a visit to Chi Lin and Nan Lian in this part of Kowloon.
