It was great to be greeted by the very efficient staff. The room was spotlessly clean and the interior design fabulous. The bed was comfortable after a long flight with finest linen and pillows. It has to have one of the best location for anyone’s trip to Hong Kong with the metro just a stroll away. The breakfast was a highlight also with a fantastic selection and such refined services. We loved it all and will definitely stay there again.

Thank you for your valuable comments and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. All the amenities and breakfast items are carefully selected to ensure quality and a comfortable stay for guests. Breakfast is served with both hot and cold dishes with a nice cup of coffee.

The Mercer is conveniently located and only a minute walk from MTR station and within easy walking distance of Central’s prime business, shopping and dining locations.

Looking forward to welcome you back to The Mercer soon.

Boutique, luxury hotels are my thing. The Mercer Hotel is absolutely lovely. It lies within the very humble area of Sheung Wan, which is humble in comparison to the very bustling areas on Hong Kong Island like Central and Soho. The concierges at the Mercer are absolutely trained to offer an upgrade during check in. If you can afford it, ask for a calculator, do the conversion and buy the upgrade. I was able to upgrade from a king standard room to a suite for $71 per night. It may sound like a lot, but if you are traveling 16 hours on a plane to a "far away land" why not pamper oneself. The small suit had a very efficient and modern design. The pocket doors were sleek and the bathroom was very well done. The major pitfall of this hotel is that there is nearly service free. There are cleaners who do a fantastic job, but there is no real kitchen and the complimentary breakfast is kind of strange if you are gearing up for a long day. I only mention this because when you fly halfway around the world for 16 hours with an 11 hour time different and aren't mentally prepared to figure out how it all works when you arrive...you might be hungry.

Otherwise, the design itself was fantastic.

Room Tip: Pay for the upgrade- just do it. The higher up you are the less noise you will hear.

This is a so so hotel with a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE neighborhood!! During day time, there are metal hammering from the junk recycling shop across the road, & at night, annoying loud noises from the gay bar next to the hotel. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a decent night rest here. I will never come back and suggest this hotel to no one, if the NOISE-POLLUTION problem remains.

Thank you for your valuable comments and we are sorry that you didn’t enjoy the neighborhood of the hotel.
The Mercer is a contemporary designed boutique hotel located in the fashionable up and coming Sheung Wan area, within a minute walking to MTR station. The location is off the main road, in a more local area but with a wide variety of restaurants and within easy walking to shopping and offices in Central. There are also antique shops, art galleries and designer boutiques scattered around which creates an unique artistic atmosphere. The small bar opposite to the hotel maybe more busy during weekend but generally it is a quiet and safe area.

We spent 4 night at the end of March at The Mercer as part of our Asia trip before heading to Vietnam. I wanted to try The Mercer as I usually book my boss here when he travels to Hong Kong for business (after researching TripAdvisor). The first time I booked him here he said it was a great little place and he is happy to stay here every time. After staying here myself I can see why. It is small, comfortable, clean, attractive and a 2 minute walk to the MTR. The guys on reception are a little aloof but helpful. A simple but adequate buffet breakfast is included as well as wireless internet, local calls and mini bar with water and soft drinks. If you are looking for a no fuss but comfortable stay, The Mercer is the one.

Boutique hotel, clean with good features. Basic breakfast but adequate. Very close to MTR station. Helpful staff. Neighbourhood is not as glamorous as some of the big brand hotels. Ultimately would stay again

Thank you for your comments. Our breakfast is served in buffet style, which includes selection of bread, pastries, muffins, fruits, cold cuts, salad, cereals and juice. To enhance our quality, we have added on some hot items such as scrambled egg, sausages and Chinese dim sum served in a chafing dish. The Mercer is covered by major transportation network, with the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal as well as Sheung Wan, Central and Hong Kong (Airport Express) MTR stations, Tram and Star Ferry all within easy walking distance. Besides, Central, SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong are just minutes away, each providing Hong Kong’s finest shopping, dining and entertainment. We look forward to welcoming you back at The Mercer in the near future.
