“great for lunch, but rather random servcie”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

we went on a wekday eve when the place was only half full. If you go at lunchtime there are queues outside (there is a special queuing area) which shows how popular the place is.

The place is brightly lit: menus feature photos and English explanantions and the price is reasonable by HK standards. Serive is hilariously random. Our side dish came first: followed by another side dish; then the mains and ended with the starters: its tapas gone haywire.

The food is good but avoid the broken rice platter: too dry and dull.

Wouldn't recommend for special occassions or relaxed eves out: but for lunch or a qucik bite after the gym etc its good value

“Excellent noodle soup; the rest of the food was mediocre”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

Really enjoyed the beef noodle soup; I would go back to eat that. The rest of the food I ate was just mediocre. My meal consisted of: fish, chickens skewers, beef skewers, chicken, vegetables, and dessert, along with the beef noodle soup. Other than the beef noodle soup, the rest of the food was mediocre.

Service was decent, the decor was mediocre (there was a leak in the ceiling near the entrance), noise level was ok. Overall, not a bad restaurant, but go for the beef noodle soup, not the rest of the food.

“Lovely Rice Cakes”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

Visited the Wan Chai branch, 5:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was closed for set up for dinner. We decided to wait the 15 minute till opening, and saw all staff relaxing. 5 minutes before opening, all were up and about preparing.
Would recommend the rice rolls- crab and prawn. Prawn toast very bland and tasteless. Chicken wings nothing spectacular. Prawn in tamarind more sweet than sweet and sour and roast chicken okay. Not the friendliest of service and wouldn't rush to eat there again. Very pricey.
Don't use the wash rooms unless you wish to be put off your food.

“Outstanding Vietnamese”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

Multiple locations. Excellent quality. Can be very crowded in the central location especially after 1 or so for lunch. But there is a reason. This is some of the best Vietnamese in town and more or less reasonably priced.

“good vietnamese authentic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

After trying to find the top two vietnamese restaurants hong kong on tripadvisor we settled on the third. The first as shut and the second had moved to LanKwaiFong and was also closed. Third time lucky. Ordered 4 starters and only the stuffed squid was a disappointment. The beef, grilled squid, spring rolls were excellent. The soft shell crab in rice paper rolls were fantastic, the 3 rice/noodle dishes we ordered were good. Washed down with saigon beer.

clean and cheeful decor, quick smiley service- a good meal and as usual I ate too much
Cheap for hong kong $ HK 500 for 4 with beer.
Easy to find- first floor of the building next to Hopewell Centre on Queens road East-
