Hang around outside the Wing On Plaza, East Tsim Sha Tsui and a man (doesn't speak much English) will approach you and take you up to the Saffron restaurant. If you get there before 1930 you are likely to get a table with a harbour view. We always asked for the set meal menu - it is not available at weekends or holidays and we were once caught out by this and paid a lot more for the a la carte menu. It is called Tiffin for two (four or six) but they will do it for any number and you can have veg or non-veg .
For the set meal for 4 you get two starters, 4 different curries, breads, rice, dessert and 6 drinks (alcoholic or not). There was ample for 4 hungry men and the tastes were fabulous - my favourite was the butter chicken curry. It is served with plenty of smiles and style. You could even ask Michael, the owner, to choose for you if you can't cope with the choices yourself.
We have tried many curry places in Kowloon and this is our favourite. Try it and enjoy.

“Serve good food with a lot of care and love”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2012

Went with family and friends and simply enjoyed the evening. I strongly recommend this place for very tasty food, good ambiance, polite serving with lots of love and smile. No rigid rules or policies. Very customer friendly. I would recommend to anybody and will go here often, as long as the quality of food and service is maintained.

This is extremely close to MTR exit P1 at ETST and in Wing on Plaza.

“The best North Indian food in Hong Kong”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2011

I have lived in Hong Kong for 16 years and have eaten at every Indian restaurant here, from Yuen Long near the border to Stanley in the south. Without doubt, Saffron offers the best North Indian food in Hong Kong. Roasted pappadams arrived first, gratis. we ordered the usual favorites, Vegetable Samosa, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Sheekh Kebab, Baigan Ka Bharta (egg plant), Garlic Naan, and Kesari Pulao (Basmati rice), along with Kingfisher beer. The chicken and the lamb were well marinated and succulent. The genial proprietor was ever ready to offer suggestions and describe how these dishes were cooked. The waiting staff were charming and helpful without being intrusive. We sat by the window at a spacious table, with plenty of natural light streaming in, and lingered over the food and drink. We were offered Masala Tea on the house. Altogether, an experience to be recommended.

“Great Indian food in Kowloon - next to the Shangri-La”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2011

The lamb vindaloo was very good as was the chicken masala. This place was recommended by a concierge a the Shangri-La (next door) and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
