Owner description: Stanley is very different to other parts of Hong Kong, or completely different from what you think about Hong Kong. Stanley, located at the southern of Hong Kong island, is much more relaxed with beaches, hills and coves. You will find the western atmosphere in this small Chinese town.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

I have had many visits to this place over 10 years and whilst it is very touristy, it is well worth a visit. Great places to get children's clothes and quality goods. There are lots of beach side restaurants next to the markets

“Not a bargain place any more”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

This was our 4 trips to Stanley, Hong Kong, in the last 20 years. Stanley Beach has changed a lot over the years. From a fishing village with nice villas to now a tourist market, shopping arcade and nice restaurants. It is a nice place to get a beer at the open bars, sit at tables by the side walk and watch the beach and the passers-by. One can also have nice inexpensive breakfast with bacon and egg for US$5.00.

The Stanley Market, however, is now an disappointment. They done have the nice good quality bargains anymore. As a matter if fact, the vendors did not even want to bargain with my wife and I. And the quality if the fashion clothing is not as good as 5 to 10 years ago. The Chinese signature stamps are still reasonable if you want your own signature stamp.

All in all, it us still worth the while to visit Stanley when you are in Hong Kong.

“STANLEY ON SEA”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

Stanley has a new shopping/restaurant complex that is a big draw on Sundays, especially for ex-pats. There’s a pleasant promenade with more traditional Chinese restaurants and some local shrines along the way. Stanley market is essentially for tourists – the range of stalls is comprehensive. The X6 bus gets you there and back with the minimum of delay. The 52 mini-bus connects to Aberdeen.

“Some gems hidden in touristic place”
Reviewed March 9, 2014 via mobile

Some gems hidden in touristic place. First a small temple jus above the sea beyond the Blake Pier. Then on the left of the Stanley market, a serie of very small houses built by the British army in a Chinese style facing the sea.
