The Causeway Bay Shelter is a typhoon refuge location and not much of a tourist attraction. There is little to see here other than a few remaining old vessels and some more modern yachts that are often parked in these waters. One reason to consider a visit here the firing of the Noonday Gun, which has a long standing history in Hong Kong. This draws a few visitors each day. Otherwise, there is little reason to try and find the Causeway Bay Shelter.
If you are interested in a traditional sampoon boat ride, there are better areas in Hong Kong to go for this purpose, the best is probably in Aberdeen. Traditional sampoon rides can also be arranged in Sai Kung. Alternatively, at the Avenue of Stars, you can arrange a ride on the modern and fun Aqua Luna 'junk' boat.
