“A quiet place in midst of a vertical city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012

A must go place if you love peace and quiet and want to enjoy a pint of bear(yeah the pub said bear not beer) near the coast. You can then take a ferry to central from here or go back to see more of Lantau island.

“Mui Wo - Peace and tranquility in the midst of Hong Kong”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2011

Mui Wo is a beautiful sandy bay on Lantau Island. Within half an hour of central by the hourly ferry service (watch out for the slow ferries!), and about the same by taxi from the airport.
This must be the nicest family resort in the Hong Kong region, with only 3 hotels in the resort, and cars banned to the most part. It's directly across the island from the airport, separated by a line of mountains, so the hotels are classified as 'airport hotels'.
This is a peaceful haven away from the city, and ideal for walkers who want to explore the island by foot, or use the local buses up and down the island.
There are a few seafood restaurants, Indian and even a McDonalds for those who are 'culinarily challenged'.
Guesthouse accomodation can be sometimes booked from a kiosk by the ferry terminal, but don't expect a cheap hotel anywhere on HK, unless you use a youth hostel.
