Nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was amazing with a great view, comfortable bed, shower with overhead spray, and plenty of room to move around in the room without bumping into each other. Very good location and able to walk no matter where we chose to go for the day/night. I would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Hong Kong.

Risk-free choice for a great, reasonably-priced stay in Hong Kong. Luxurious without opulence. Free shuttle or nice walk to Nathan Rd or Star Ferry. Great views of the harbour & skyline, great pool & gym on 9th floor, even greater (but admittedly expensive) Chinese restaurant on 28/29th Floor. Food was really exceptional. Breakfast in the 2nd floor restaurant is really ''to behold" (warning it does REALLY stop at 10:30am sharp!!)

Rooms are excellent. Giant windows. VERY comfortable beds. As the hotel is only a few years old, all the tech stuff work well - whisper-quiet air-co keeps the room temp spot on, free wireless is fast and needs a single logon for the entire hotel/stay. All-in-all can heartily recommend.

Room Tip: Take a harbour view

We booked the hotel ICON for 3 reason one we wanted to be on Kowloon side, two we wanted it to be 5 star and have an executive floor and three the one that nailed it for us was the heated outdoor swinmming pool as the temperature drops this time of year in KH

What a gem of a find this place was, the facilities from the market restaurant to the Michelin standard Chinese restaurant on the 28th floor we absolutely wonderful, the food and the wine were very keenly priced for HK, the room 36 we had had the most fanatstic view across the harbour to HK side and was even more stunning in the evening, the room was immaculate but what made this hotel really really special was the people who worked there nothing and i mean nothing was to much trouble for them from the people on the ground floor to the people on the executive floor.

The gymnasium was fantastic an excellent size that accomodated all equipment for serious power and body builders, cardio machines and lots of free weights, then pool is great and has a fantastic view of the harbour while lying in the sun

On the executive floor you can eat in the executive lounge for breakfast or the market restaurant two choices same price free its complimentry on the executive floor, the executive floor is more quite for breakfast

the executive floor in the evening serves cocktails from 18:00 until 20:00 please dont go there if you dont want to drink becasue the staff will supply you with an abundance of drink as soon as your glass is empty it is filled they ahve the most staff i ahve ever seen on an executive floor and they were all fantastic

The room ( we had a room type 36 overlooking the harbour) lots of amenties, good laundry service, free wifi, absolutely clean and fantastic bed and above all else really really quite which amazed us.

forget what people say about this hotel being for business its for families as well and within walking distance of the star ferry ( if you dont want to walk there is a complimentry bus service as well)

the final thing i can say about this hotel is i cant wait to go back there

Room Tip: if you can afford it stop in the executive rooms if not ask for one facing the harbour

I really enjoyed my stay at the Icon. The rooms were very nicely appointed and extremely clean, although I did have to move the luggage rack - it was placed way too far from the wardrobe and in front of the window - prime position for a suitcase!. I loved the design of the bathroom and the overhead shower head was great - although the floor did get just a little wet!
The free mini bar is great too although i forgot to use it :(
Location is great, especially if you are planning a trip to Shenzhen - very close to the Hung Hom station.
The staff are very efficient but I feel they need to relax a little and be a little more friendly.
The main problem I had here is that we returned for 1 night after our original 3 night stay and were given a smoking room when I had specifically asked for a non smoking room the first time around. We were then offered a room with twin beds which we took as there was apparently no other choice. The attitude of the boy who moved us was disappointing to say the least.
Breakfast was fantastic - no need to have lunch after partaking of their breakfast!
I would definitely stay here again despite the small problems we had.

We selected the Hotel Icon for a week long stay in HK based on reviews th pool and newness of the hotel, we booked a Club King Harbour view room and it didn't disappoint the view was outstanding! This is a very good hotel that for the most part goes the extra mile. We were met at the front of the hotel by our personal hostess who accompanied us to our room checking us in in privacy and comfort as we had just arrived from Australia. The hostess explained all features of the Club room package which included access to Above & Beyond features such as free breakfast on level 28 or at the Market on level 2, free cocktails between 5-8pm among others. The hotel requested that we complete a preferences questionnaire which they responded to the next day. The room was well appointed with excellent touches such as the swivel chair and amenities. We particularly enjoyed the bathroom which included a soaking bath with TV. The shower was fantastic with beautiful slate floor and water options (rain shower or hand held). The bed must be mentioned it was glorious
The staff we very friendly and happy to meet requests. The pool area was better than the photos and we found early morning dips to be the best for getting our day going. The only drawback in the area is that the hotel at this time has a 'smoking' section on the pool deck in the prominent position that frequently spilled over into the remaining area. If you smoke this won't be an issue for you however, for us both non-smokers it resulted in the area at times resembling a pub rather than a relaxing pool area. We were disappointed to have to leave the area on a couple of occasions. Please note this was the only drawback for us. The Hotel provides a shuttle service which we found to be very reliable,on time and the shuttles clean.
We enjoyed the breakfast on lvl28 and of course the fantastic view. The service was very good and 'Joanna' went the extra mile to present coffee to our liking, once achieved she continued to make us excellent coffee each morning. We also enjoyed breakfast on lvl 2 particularly for the dumplings! (also included in the Club package)
The food and portions were good we recommend the 'mock-tails' (double happiness) as a great boost! all the little things are included in the room: robes, slippers, free mini bar Nespresso in the room, turn down service..thumbs up!!
Lastly we read a lot of reviews complaining that the MTR was more than 10 minutes (??) walk away and not an easy. We used the East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR just a 5 min walk across a couple shopping and eating squares easy walk so we recommend using that MTR stop.

Room Tip: We recommend the Club Rooms (for the inclusions) with harbour view - stunning!

Great hotel, wonderful staff, location is perfect, room was amazing, will definately be back.
You can walk anywhere from this hotel. Tried all three restaurants and each one was excellant. the staff are friendly and accomodating. The area is perfect and close to all sites. And the view, well we had a harbour suite and it was incredible each and every night.

Room Tip: Pay the little extra and get a harbour room view, you wont be dissapointed.

We stayed at the Hotel Icon for 5 days on the way home from a round the world trip with our 3 year old, 15 month old and my first-time-to-Hong-Kong parents.

The hotel is attached to a hospitality school and is obviously aimed at the business market. It is very modern with very well appointed rooms, restaurants, gym and pool and spa.

Thanks to the hospitality school, there are staff everywhere but at no point did I feel hovered over. There is always an experienced staff member on hand to help if someone needed to help but only once did we have a problem (with a drink order taking 30 minutes to arrive) and once we complained, the supervisor stepped in and sorted the situation to our satisfaction.

I was a little worried when we arrived that our kids would not be catered for but the staff were beyond helpful. From highchairs/booster seats and loan strollers to daily surprises of cupcakes or toys delivered to our room, we were overjoyed at the effort they went to to make the kids feel welcome.

The pool is not overly little kid friendly but it was more than adequate and the staff at the pool fetched highchairs for poolside lunches and seemed to pay extra attention when the kids were around the pool. Our kids spent quite a bit of time in the outdoor gym shower which (since it was not used once whilst we were there), doubled as a wading pool and fountain!

We stayed in a harbour view room with an adjoining room for the kids. My 3 year old was overjoyed at her king sized bed and there was plenty of room for a cot. The kids were delighted with the view of the light show before they went to bed at night and the bath was so deep not even my monkey 15 month old could climb out.

We used a Hotel Icon babysitter on 2 occasions. This lady was amazing. My sometimes clingy 3 year old was enthralled with her within 5 minutes and actually only gave me a fleeting wave when it was time for us to go. She was also saintlike when my 15 month old would not sleep on the night we did not get home until well after midnight. He might not have gone to sleep but he was entertained and happy and that was really nice to come home to.

My parents had not been to Hong Kong before so the location was important. I was worried we were a little too far from the waterfront and harbour but it was an easy and pleasant walk. They also have a shuttle bus doing laps of the important places if you did not want to walk.

The concierge were fabulous making bookings at restaurants we did not think we would get into at short notice as well as recommending places to eat nearby. They were also helpful organising tours for Mum and Dad.

The food was nothing spectacular but there was a good choice and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I've seen for a small hotel. Mind you, due to not wanting to put the kids with a babysitter for a 3rd night (!) we did not get to eat at Above and Beyond which is their signature restaurant. I have heard good reports about it and will definitely make that a priority next time.

We had a dedicated housekeeping person for our floor. I assume each floor would have one. It was really lovely to have some one get to know our needs and remember them each day. We could also make small requests direct to him rather than having to call housekeeping. This was great for extra things we needed for the kids.

The spa is an Angsana by Banyan Tree spa which is Thai. It took me a second to adjust when I was greeted with 'Sawatdee Kah'! It was beautifully appointed and the staff were most professional and really good at what they do.

We would stay again as a family, we would stay if travelling as a couple (maybe upgrade to a suite on the club floor) and my husband is definitely going to stay for business next time he is in Hong Kong.

Recommended!
