After a long flight to Hong Kong it is wonderful to be greeted by name at the airport. I would highly recommend you make use of the airport shuttle - yes there are less expensive methods but trust me after a long flight the extra few dollars spent on this are the best invenstment you will make.
For those of you that go to HK regularly you know this building - it overlooks Central and is a destination in itself. The property occupies the top floors of the hotel and the views are the most amazing I've ever experienced. I have been there many times just to have a drink or enjoy a meal - but staying here wa a whole other experience.
They great you at the door and then the typical Ritz Carlton service takes over - from the time you are handed off to the guest relations people inside who take you up to the lobby until they check you in - they know you by name and they know you are tired - so it is efficicent and first class the whole way.
The rooms are perfect -- more traditional than you might think at first but full of modern convenience. The club is one of the best they have in the world - specifically designed (the automated wine bar is amazing just to see how it works) and the service is just as good. The club spans the whle length of the building from side to side.
The facilities are the best I've ever seen - the pool - amazing with the entire ceiling being an LED screen. The gym - first class the whole way. The restaurants - all amazing. Ozone - the highest bar in the world in the highest hotel in the world - amazing.
I would say that this is probably the flagship Ritz Carlton in the world and it lives up to it - in every way. The mangement ofd the property is as good as it gets and may also be the friendliest and most knowledgable I've seen (and I work in the industry and I know what good looks like).
Yes - it is expensive. But you really should splurge and try this property. The best deal in the hotel is the lobby lounge - it is actually one floor down the escalator from the front desk. The views - all I can say is that it is like being in an airplane flying over HK - its that amazing!
The best value in my opinion is to eat / have a drink in the lobby lounge. the Pad Thai is amazing and the prices are pretty reasonable. And at night I've never seen anything so amazing as that view. It literally is mesmerizing. And go up to Ozone and have a drink - just for the experience - you'll never forget it.
