Owner description: Since 1904, trams have been running from East to West of Hong Kong Island. Over the last century, Hong Kong Tramways witnessed the development of Hong Kong, and the tram remains an efficient and the most economical mode of public transport in Hong Kong. Today, Hong Kong Tramways owns and operates a fleet of 163 tramcars, including 2 antique tramcars, carrying a daily average of 230,000 passengers. It is the world's largest fleet of double-deck tramcars still in service.

If you aren't rushed for time then a trip or two on the Ding Ding trams is a fun way to see some of Hong Kong Island. The view from the upstairs level gives you an aspect that you wouldn't get walking the streets. Gets you out of the crowd. Cheap (and easy using octopus card) and an interesting way to fill an hour.

Very fun and fast. Great way to see the amazing architecture. Hop on and off was very easy. Only a few lines, very clean and efficient

If you're on vacation, I don't think you have too tight a schedule. For a simple $2.30HKD at least ride the ding ding once, in place of your regular trip on the island line MTR. The tram is slow-paced enough to cover more ground than by foot, but helps to take in the bustling street scenes.

Still an effective method of travel.. A fixed, very low, fee per trip. the size and height of the trams shows how small people used to be. A must do experience.

A great start to a visit to Hong Kong. Sit up top and cross the city noting places you would like to come back to an explore. Super cheap and a great opportunity to mix with the locals.
