About 15mins by taxi from Central on "the far side' of Hong Kong island. This very good quality comfortable spacious training hotel with only about 30 (?)rooms, also has 2 training restaurants: western and chinese. Evening meals (western menu) are very good. Breakfast is part buffet & part serviced, hot & cold, with a nice selection (eg: omelette, meats, cheese board, basic cereals, yoghurt, bacon tomato, beans etc). English is spoken and usually understood. It is on the bus route to the popular Stanley Market and upmarket Repulse Bay area. We tried the special Chinese meal night featuring regional cuisine some of which (to our western palate) was delicious, and some of which was "interesting" !
So enjoyed our stay here that we cancelled our future stay at a Nathan Rd city hotel to return here!

Room Tip: All rooms are very good

As my husband and I had decided to stay on HK side, it made it much easier for me and I didn't have to trawl through too many hotels. I read the hotel reviews on TA and I was very impressed with the things I read on the T hotel. I had no illusions about what the hotel offered. Therefore I would not have expected a pool or a spa.

My husband was not happy with my choice as the hotel is not centrally located. I sold the hotel to him by stating that no where in HK is far and the transport system is great, reasonable fares and the island is not that large. I rang the hotel as they don't have an online booking system. We were able to book a room for only 5 days out of our 12 day stay in HK as they were full. An email confirmation of our booking was sent to me very swiftly.

I was on tenterhooks wondering if I would get my ears bent by my husband. The hotel is on 6th floor of the training establishment. The reception does not have an impressive hall like in most HK 5* hotels but it very welcoming and staff were very attentive as soon as we arrived. We had to rush off to one of the islands so left our luggage at reception and check in was a breeze and we were assured the luggage would be taken to our room.

When we eventually got to our room, it was HUGE! The view from our room was amazing! The bathroom had a comprehensive selection of amenities and toiletries. The window in the bathroom is huge. From the bathroom window we could also enjoy the wonderful view and for privacy there is a remote control that would turn the window hazy. There is a rubber duck and Nemo left daily by the bath. Wow, they have thought of everything.

The bed was big, extremely comfy and the bedside cabinet had all types of gadgets. There is a lounge area and a desk with electrical sockets.

For breakfast there were quite a selection, omelettes, fried eggs, bacon and sausage, the usual fare. There were fresh fruits and juices and Congee. Also there were a selection of all types of breads. It was a shame we could not enjoy breakfast on the balcony. During our stay it was a bit chilly.

In the evenings the bed is turned down and a plate of chocolates plus a filled ice bucket are left in the room. A 5* service paying such reasonable hotel rates for HK, it is unbelievable.

My husband who is rather short on praises, was even singing the praises of the hotel to the people he met in HK.

The hotel provides a shuttle to the central area in the morning, Monday to Friday. We used the shuttle as well as taxis and buses. The hotel provides a card with the map of the hotel and bus numbers to most locations. The buses are very frequent and there is also the airport express A10 which stops by the hotel.

Just be mindful that it is a training establishment. Try to get to breakfast within the stated time as the students have to move onto lunch service. We stayed for lunch one day and it did not disappoint. The service was great and at times the students were nervous and hesitant. But this is is all part of a great experience and the price is so reasonable. The wine list prices are unbelievably cheap. The Restaurant manager showed me around the hotel kitchen when he found out that I was a bit of a foodie. The mini bar rates too are very reasonable.

One evening we came back around 9 and found a note put through the door and the room had not been cleaned. Whilst ringing reception to enquire what had happened, we noticed that we had accidentally switched on the do not disturb switch. The duty manager arrived in no time with a team of students and the room was done in a flash and the they didn't even forget the chocolates.

What an experience to stay at this amazing hotel. Five star room, five star breakfast, five star service and five star view. What more could you ask?? The students were delightful, couldn't do enough for you, we felt like royalty each morning going for breakfast with the staff lining up to say good morning to us. Our room had the most amazing view looking out to sea and the ever changing shipping movements so far below us.
The room was large and had everything you could wish for, even a desk with a port to plug in electrical appliances without using an adaptor. Bed linen and towels changed everyday and the bed linen was lovely. The bed was HUGE. It was so great to have bath sheets - huge towels and robes and a nightly bed turn down with a plate of goodies on the bedside table. Also lots of goodies in the bathroom even little rubber toys beside the bath.
We chose to have breakfast out on the balcony overlooking the view instead of inside the air conditioned dining room. Breakfast was delightful with a student chef on hand to cook omelettes or eggs on the spot as well as smoked salmon, variety of cereals, fruits, breads, sausages, bacon etc etc, too much to name.
We booked into the traditional chinese dinner on the Friday evening and if you stay at this hotel, this is a must! Traditional chinese musicians playing and a set menu which was amazing served by an army of eager young students who did a fantastic job and all for a very reasonable price..
We have stayed before in Kowloon and to be honest the position of the T Hotel is better. Right outside the hotel you can get a bus to just about anywhere in Hong Kong and it only takes about 15 min to central Hong Kong. The hotel also has a shuttle bus which runs to central Hong Kong 3 times a day. The hotel even supplies a card with all the bus numbers for all the destinations.
All of the above and more for about half what you'd pay for a hotel in Kowloon. Its a no brainer - best place to stay in Hong Kong but if you're going, book quickly, this best kept secret is out!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view, although I'm sure the mountain view would be just a great.

The staff were excellent, rooms very big by HK standards. Close to HK city. Very clean and tidy with great views. I would prefer to stay here more than any where else in HK. The welcome was personal and warm.

This was our 3rd time at the T hotel and it was even better than last time.
Rooms and service were as always excellent, breakfast - in the dining room or out on a balcony looking out over the ocean & Hong Kong's busy shipping lanes hundreds of feet below - was great - omelettes or eggs, salads, cold meats, fruit, a prune compote that even if you don't normally like prunes you should try, breads, yogurt + Chinese dishes, a full range of coffee, latte, cappuccino - and if you want anything else they have a full kitchen.
Dinner a la carte is also very good if you're tired & don't want to head into Hong Kong - try their take on a club sandwich if you'd like something light.
So what's better ?
The students are now doing intensive English classes & it shows - their spoken English is now pretty good - and they seem to be more confident.
Favourite memory from this trip - the day a cyclone blew into Hong Kong & there was a black level heavy rain warning [their highest level] so everyone including the students were ordered to stay home, and our breakfast was served by the schools managers who were on call, all wearing their impeccable pinstriped trousers & black jackets and demonstrating the skills that made them chief instructors. As one laughingly commented - "this morning madam you have the highest paid wait staff in Hong Kong" ..

Room Tip: Ask for a Harbour View & if you're very lucky you'll get one..

Anyone going to Hong Kong should go and experience this training hotel. What a breath of fresh air after the disastrous Charterhouse. Go and see what this bargain of Hong Kong is all about, just remember that you will have tired smile muscles at the end of the stay, as you are greeted by it seems hundreds of young students every day with a wonderful smile. Enjoy the view, enjoy the 5 Star room, and the wonderful breakfast - could not be beaten for value in Hong Kong.

We just went to Hong Kong for a quick four day trip and this hotel was more than accommodating and very nice inside. We flew in late at night about 1230am and set up a ride from the hotel for about $100 USD (800HKD). It was great because we didn't have to think about how to get there. (Most cab drivers dont know the hotel so print out the info page from the website. We stayed in a corner suite for a very reasonable price. We were greeted by a awesome suite with fresh fruit and chocolates every night. Breakfast every morning was good and fresh. The only small thing is getting from the hotel to the main side of the island. It is only a 10-15 min cab ride (40HKD) but the trick is finding a cab. We figured out the best was to walk out to the street and flag down a cab. The first day we weren't sure about the process so we asked the concierge, we were kind of in a rush and I think they noticed this as one of the guards grabbed an umbrella and went to flag down a taxi for us and ride it to the front of the hotel. Did I mention it was pouring rain? (Great Service!!) Great security and a great stay. Wish we had more time to spend in the actual room! Dont hesitate to stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for the sea view and a suite if you can! ( Suite was $300USD / Night) This is what you will pay...
