“Nice got a walk around”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2014 via mobile

Great for a morning walk. Bring cat treats if you want to feed the local strays. Good for a stroll or people watching.

“Oasis in the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014

This is a must do if you've got children. It's got great bird & aquatic life & several great playgrounds. Hong Kong has play grounds all over but this park is particularly nice because it's got grass etc. Great to frequent in the morning before you head out or to break up a day in the concrete jungle

“Flamingos?!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

It's not a park that will blow your mind but it is a welcome break from the surrounding craziness of Tsim Sha Tsui. We were very surprised to see the amount of flamingos in the park and noticed that there was a bird sanctuary in there as well. There is a cool walkway that gets you right to the pier in case you are interested in catching a ferry or even just a beautiful sunset over the harbor.

“Serenity”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

Kowloon Park was an essential part of my visit to Hong Kong.

I used the fitness trail on three occasions, enjoyed watching Tai Chi master classes, and soaked in the atmosphere of the Colour Garden and the neighbouring Garden of Life, which is an extraordinary memorial to Hong Kong organ donors.

I enjoyed the Maze Garden, The Sculpture Walk, the Bird Lake and the Chinese Garden… and walked across to the rooftop garden which offers spectacular views of Hong Kong Island and Victoria Harbour.

My mind and spirit yearned for open space and green grass during my Hong Kong visit, and Kowloon Park became my 33 acre oasis of serenity.

“Best spot of green space in Tsim Sha Tsui”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

When visiting TST, it doesn't take long for the overwhelming crowds, traffic, noise and heat to have one searching for a get away form the chaos of the city. While in Kowloon, the best option you have for such refuse is Kowloon Park located in the heart of TST, near to the large shopping malls and many major hotels. There are several small (free) attractions that are worth seeing at Kowloon Park.

There is a Chinese garden, a few fountains and pools, a shrub maze and other areas to enjoy a leisurely stroll or find a place to sit and relax. There are interesting sculptures in the designated sculpture garden as well as a relatively newly added feature to the park called the Avenue of Comic Stars. Here you can see a collection of life-size Hong Kong Comic characters. This is a fun feature to the park for hobby enthusiasts and novices alike.

Wildlife fans and birdwatchers will potentially enjoy the small aviary, which features around 140 birds. There is also a bird lake, where you can see swans, flamingos and ducks that are there in great numbers.

Those with an interest in history will enjoy the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre which is found in the centre of the park. This centre has the purpose of promoting local heritage in the form of Hong Kong’s archeology, architecture and public housing transformation of the city. The centre is free to visit, is interesting and a good way to step out of the heat during the warmer months of the year.

Another interesting cultural experience that can be had in Kowloon Park on Sunday afternoons is known as Kung Fu Corner. Here you can watch local participants demonstrating ceremonial drumming, lion and dragon dances as well as mixed martial arts.

In the end, Kowloon Park is a fair city park and serves an important purpose in this heavily populated area of Tsim Sha Tsui. We prefer Hong Kong Park on the island and recommend it ahead of this park, if visitors want to see our best city park in Hong Kong. However, if you're simply looking for a break from the bustling city, Kowloon Park is a good place in TST.
