Description: Every evening Tuesday to Saturday, WHISK sets the perfect mood with ambient music, hundreds of candle lights and exquisite wines to impress at a price that will leave you impressed with your check. While contemporary European classics demonstrate culinary craftsmanship with the finest meats and seafood enhanced by fresh and seasonal ingredients, the wine pricing allows patrons to enjoy the world’s most exquisite vintages for less than what they are available for in any other five star hotel gourmet restaurant in Hong Kong and across the region. After sunset, the venue flickering with hundreds of candle lights transforms itself into a romantic hideout to indulge in inventive menus and browse through a cellared collection of carefully selected, premium wine labels. Inevitably, it will become your favorite restaurant for surprise romantic gestures, intimate dinners or organizing wine gatherings with friends, business dinners, wine events and private parties.WHISK transitions from the restaurant through to Vibes, the exclusive open-air lounge bar, that also serves as al fresco dining alternative for WHISK’s famous Sunday Brunch with live DJ.

“Whisk - A PARADOX - good for some disappointing for others”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2012

Whisk is a high end sought after venue for the trendy set in Hong Kong & Kowloon, although the decor & layout is incongrous & disappointing, it is in effect an annex of the uber cool Mira Hotel.
Anyway, to the food, I went to the Sunday Champagne brunch, (booking essential)! The younger waiters, some French, some Auusie are rather arrogant, the Chinese ones are pleasant & helpful, the Maitre D was very nice & helpful. There is a very strange format, unlike most of the other 5 star hotels that have enormous selections of international dishes, Whisk has an "appetiser" cold buffet, featuring excellent parma ham, fresh fish, goose liver pate, 5 different caviars with chilled vodka shots, good seafood including filleted crab, smoked salmon etc. Excellent cheeseboard, (although this was attacked, and by 1.45pm it did not look as if it was going to be replenished...There is then a strange "micro breakfast" wherein you can have ONE egg & only ONE egg! This came with a microscopic sliver of bacon, shavings of mushroom & a small horrible (I think) chicken sausage, (why do restaurants serve these things? They don't taste of anything....After that you order the "main", from a choice of 4, they sound attractive but are only very small portions, and really look silly, mine took ages, I had to go looking for the Aussie girl - she'd forgotten....Oh and an amuse bouche of a sliver of fresh foie gras... SO that's then it, there are no other choices/hot dishes to feast on, just sneak back to the appetisers if you are still hungry or knock back another 4 or 5 glasses of bubbly.
Desserts are excellent - plenty of choice.

Drinks- the champagne really is free flowing! - good quality, and you can order as many spirits, bloody marys, beers, cocktails. liquers as you like, ironically if you're so inclined you could drink the US100 no problem!

Would I go again? Maybe...for a full out liquid lunch with some caviar & pate to line the stomach!

“Unfresh seafood, poor value for money and lack of professional response from management”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2012

We had brunch here on new years day and were sorely disappointed. The oysters were off, when we mentioned it to the waiter we got no response. One of us then complained to the manager who said he would look into it but there was no follow up. At the very least we would have expected the manager to come see us and offer an explanation and apology. He was certainly free as we saw him happily chatting with other guests. Given the price we paid ($900 plus 10%) we certainly would have expected fresh seafood and a professional response to a complaint from customers from a purportedly fine dining establishment.

“Don't bother”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2011

Perfunctory service, overblown reputation, foo foo kind of menu, way overpriced, fine for the business traveler who does not pay for the meal himself or herself, & ho hum food.

“Good Sunday brunch, enjoy so much”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2011

Went for a Sunday Brunch with friends which booked a long time ago. Heard that it was a hup place and it turns out so true. All food was presented elegantly in a small room right next to the entrance. Food include cavier, ham, snow crab , shrimp and a lot of other choices. there is an outdoor area where they serve bbq food shuch as suckling pig, tiger prawn and sausages. I love the free flow champagne and the fruit juice plus cocktails available at the bar. The DJ did a good job to enhance the atmosphere for a relaxing sunday brunch. Love to go back.

“Fine Dining in Hong Kong”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2011

A group of 14 of us ate here following a work function. It was fine dining in style. The hotel itself is amazing, I think its just been refurbished. We started with a drink in the lounge bar off the lobby then came up the lift to eat at Whisk. The food was modern and carefully crafted and presented. One of the best meals I've had in Hong Kong, and luckily payed for by the company.
