“True Gem located in the heart of HK (Central District)!”
Reviewed May 26, 2012

My friend and I stayed for 3 nights, and had a wonderful stay! The Central District is where you want to be for its proximity to the Star Ferry and the ferry to Macau, both of which we utilized. The underground is close by as well, which allowed us to visit the Big Buddha, New Territories, and Stanley. I would highly recommend staying on a high floor. The rooms are clean and spacious for Asia. The service was so attentive and wonderful, such that the hotel quickly became our home away from home in HK. I would highly recommend b/c you will adore the staff who will make sure that your stay is every bit as pleasant as you want it to be when you're traveling.

The positive reviews here are solid. You will not regret staying here should you need a couple days in HK and a reliable base from which to explore the surrounding parts. You WILL be treated like an old friend, and who doesn't need friends in far-flung places? Enjoy -- we certainly did!

Room Tip: ask for a high floor to avoid the street noise

It was my first time staying at this property and I have to say it matched my expectations. Just a 5 min walk from all the great food and shopping at Queens Road Central (H&M, Kau Kee beef noodles, Yung Kee), just 1 min to mid-levels escalators to hit Soho area and 10 mins walk to Central station.

It was a very convenient location where you can easily hop back into the hotel for a bit of R&R or to put down your purchases. Hotel room was small but adequate. WIFI was free which was extremely useful for a quick check of emails or the Internet. There were lots of cafes, eateries just below the hotel in case you didn't want to walk too far.

Below the hotel also had stalls selling fruits and foodstuff. A nice way to see the local way of life. I would stay there again for a short weekend trip to be near wherever I need to be.

Easy ten-minute walk from the airport express, just off central escalators. Great restaurants and nightlife all around. Room small by US standards, but very comfortable and well appointed. Will definitely stay again.

Spent three nights at Butterfly on Wellington, and can only recommend the hotel. The reception worked without a hassle, fulfilling all requests without a problem. The single room was smallish but totally adequate. The room was clean and nicely decorated. WIfi worked without any problems in all areas of the hotel we tried.

The best part of the hotel was the location. The bar area starts just about there but does not bother the stay either. The main station is very close, easily walkable even with luggage, it is very easy to reach all areas of the city. For a local style of breakfast try Lin Heung Tea House about one block away.

Bit disappointed with my stay at Butterfly on Wellington. It's not so much 'boutique' as just a cheap no-frills option.
I got a complimentary upgrade, but my 18th floor room was musty/damp... The hotel had set up a dehumidifier in the hall as it must have been a known problem.
As a cheap option for a couple of nights, it has a good location, but i wouldn't recommend this hotel if you want the typical 4* business hotel facilities.

Stayed a couple of nights in mid-May. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It just feels really nice – the aircon works well, the room was very clean and beautifully designed. Good attention to detail – down to the scent in reception – very nice. Service was efficient and friendly. Only down side was the knock on the door before 9am and accompanying shout of ‘LAUNDRY!!!’. Not cool.
Top tips: Book in advance on the hotel website for good deals.
Put a ‘Do not disturb’ sign on your door!

Stayed at this hotel on route to visiting our son and fiance in Oz . It had been suggested to us by a friends son who lives in HK ,and it did not disappoint one bit . Granted if you are looking for a room with a view ,don't stay here ,but if you like really BIG beds and clean friendly asian style hotel then go book . We stayed in one of the larger rooms ,bathroom was amazing with a massive wet room ,lovely toiletries ,soft plush towels /bathrobes etc . The bed was easily the biggest I have seen ,and soo comfortable !!There is no restaurant but just moments away from hotel is a huge shopping mall with loads of places for breakfast /dinner .There are also loads of eateries on your doorstep ,we didn't miss eating in hotel at all .All the staff are warm ,welcoming and friendly ,I have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful hotel .
