The Big Bus Tours could be booked conveniently from your Hotel's conceirge and not only at the Star Ferry Pier. We have a family of 4A+2C and have a few days in HK. So we booked the 2Day passes and I must its worth every penny spent. Basically, the 2D pass allows you to travel on their open top, double deck buses, hop on and hop off at designated stops (aplenty!) A traditional Sampan ride around the Aberdeen area and visit the famous Jumbo Floating restaurant. A 1-hour around Victoria Harbour on the Star Ferry is included as well. The best thing, the Pass also allows you to travel to the PEAK via the Tram to enjoy a panaromic view of the Commercial/Finance centres of Hong Kong island. In short, the pass allows you to visit the majority of the Attractions that Hong Kong is famous for. Of course it includes the shopping areas in Causeway Bay and drinking holes of Lan Kwai Fong. Not to mention the staff..from the drivers to the reps stationed at the major attractions to assist tourists are fantastic!

We stumbled upon Ofelia, the Big Bus tour rep, at the Star Ferry Pier just as we were trying to find the office and purchase tickets. She was very friendly and provided excellent guidance regarding the best type of ticket. As it was around 2pm and we didn't have enough time to make use of the 48-hour deluxe ticket, she suggested a mutually beneficial compromise. Thus, we ended up having most of the benefits of the deluxe ticket at a reduced price (~C$37/ticket). The ticket included three tours - Red (Victoria Peak), Green (Stanley Market and Aberdeen Fishing Village) and Blue (Kowloon). The tours were well organized and a representative was present at every attraction to guide us to the various queues, etc., that were required.
We would highly recommend this tour company. If enough time available, purchasing the deluxe (48-hour) tour would make most sense.

We took a walk down to the harbour on our arrival in Hong Kong and found the Big Bus Tour lady. She didn't try to push anything which was refreshing. We chose to do just one day tour as we weren't sure how long this would take. We had a superb day out with the the red and green tour. We visited the peak and also the temple which was very interesting. We also went on the Sampan trip which was included in the price. This was a bit of a let down as it is really only a few fishermen who live on their boats now rather than what is described as a floating village but it was still interesting and a lovely coach ride around the coastline. The Peak trip was wonderful and we were quite lucky as it wasn't too hazy when we went up there. We were able to pick up the blue tour the next day which we had to buy as a separate ticket and this did cost quite a lot. It would have been much more economical to have bought the two day ticket in the first instance but unless you know you have plenty of time this could be a bit of a gamble. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and able to answer any questions that we asked them.

If you have time get a two day pass. There is plenty to see and do and it's a great way to see everything. The commentary is excellent. It's a long way out to repulse Bay but the market out there is good and it's great to get away from the city sprawl , if it all gets too much .

We bought the deluxe tickets for around US$45 each allowing us to take a range of tours over 48 hrs. Absolute bargin. Well organised, clean, good recorded commentary and so so much included. We really had to apply ourselves to get through all the tours. Have lunch out at Stanley in a beach front resturant. Take the tram ride to the Peak and that all the esculators up to the top for the views. No need to pay any extras - all included. You can get on and off the tours as you please and look around. Very well done and we are surprised it is not in the top ten of things to do in Hong Kong.
