I found this hotel to be odd - I guess because it doesn't feel like a hotel. Other large hotels have some sense of character. This one has no personality at all. It's as though they built an office block, and turned it into a hotel. The entrance and lobby and restaurants are all on different floors.

As others have mentioned the reception staff, while polite and reasonably efficient don't seem to understand the meaning of 'hospitality" i.e. smile, make people feel welcome etc. In this hotel, they feel as though they are processing you into a prison.

Parked near the Taxi lobby are a whole lot of expensive old cars -e.g. vintage Jaguars and even an old Rolls or Bentley - but why are they there? Is it supposed to give a sense of grandeur, does the owner live in a penthouse above the hotel? It's all so incongruous..

As for the rooms - I don't like 1970's wood veneer cupboards and bedsides etc. It's just like an old motel which they've tried to turn into a 5 star hotel and produced a characterless place.

Beds like stone - if you like a firm bed, you will find this hard, if you like a more luxurious feel - stay somewhere else!!

Corridors on the room floors are very dark with little lights -why did they do this, it's just weird.

Only the swimming pool looks nice, haven't tried it yet.

Room Tip: Look for another hotel!!

Hong kong island is a very small island, you could pretty much scale it all by just walking around. Hotel provide free transportation to Central (airport express stop), as well as several shopping/recreation destinations.

Staff were ok, not particularly friendly (the receptionist), but the bell boy and concierge is quite professional.

Hotel room is quite nice, but begins to show age, hotel should do a better job in maintaining its facilities especially cleaning standards in hotel rooms (bathroom in particular).

Restaurant is terrible, if you can, please try to avoid it!! I tried it all (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), all very dissappointing. Breakfast being the worst, totally not worth the money you paid!! stay away!

You can walk to the nearby Ocean park (very boring and completely packed!!), or take a short taxi ride to enjoy outlet shopping at Horizon plaza, or sampling cantonese seafood on Jumbo!

Would return again only if price is good.

Room Tip: There are couple of convinient stores (including one in the gas station) nearby to buy your daily wa...

L Hotel
My husband and I stayed here on 31 July-3 Aug and we loved:
1. The promptness of the staff in replying my email-request to store our luggage on 23-31 July.
2. The spaciousness of the room
3. The bath in the room
4. The punctuality of the shuttle bus driver in picking us up at IFC
5. The clean and bright gym which overlooks the pool
6. The availability of 2 lifeguards at the pool

We disliked:
1. Being allocated a room which was on the same floor as members of a tour group. They were inconsiderate of others and shouted to one another along the corridor at 7.30am and at 11pm+.
2. Being allocated in the room nearest to the elevator. Hence...(refer to point 1)
3. The toilet bowl which broke down on the second day we stayed there.
The entire bathroom floor was flooded with water.

Tips:
1. Take lift to P4 level.
2. Exit and turn left to take another lift to P1.
3. Walk towards the bus stop.
4. Take bus no 75 and it will take you to Pedder Street. This is nearer to Lan Kwai Fong and Queen's Road Central area than taking the hotel's shuttle bus to IFC. Costs less than HKD5.
5. Take bus no 72a, 75 or 107 if you'd like to go to causeway bay. Alight at the stop right after the toll booth.
6. Take bus no 107 if you'd like to go to Kowloon.

Room Tip: Request for a room further away from the elevator and not on the same floor as a tour group.

Was looking for a reasonably priced hotel for 3 nights before transferring to husband's hotel when he arrived on business later in the week. Very good price online. Upgraded to club facility on arrival which included free drinks, breakfast and snacks.Although the hotel is out of town we didn't find this a problem as we have been to Hong Kong many times before and know our way round. The free shuttle service to town was great and very convenient. We also used it to go to Ocean park after we had checked out. The hotel kept our bags and we returned in the evening to collect them and get the shuttle in to town for our next hotel. Children loved the pool and as it was very hot we made full use of it before and after sightseeing. Room was very comfortable and modern. Liked the bathroom and found the dressing gowns useful to go to the pool. A very good stay at a reasonable price In a larger than average room. Staff pleasant particularly at the pool.

Room is at moderate size but most important it is comfortable. Room cleanliness and amenities provided is good. The quality of the breakfast must be improved. The associates is quite attentive and grooming is good. Associates greet the guest upon entering the restaurant unfortunately their superior is doing briefing at the entrance after our breakfast therefore, no farewell from the associates. Bellman at the entrance are also helpful and informative. Although the location is quite outskirt but the bus stop is just behind the hotel and hotel shuttle is provided. If you manage to get a good package then this hotel is value for money and also it is a good choice is you plan to visit Ocean Park just 5 minutes away.

Its good hotel near the city centre. We stayed there as part of our ciompany group in september.

Even being part of a big group we had to wait for 2 hours for check in as the rooms were only alloted at the checkin time.

Hotel design and rooms are excellent. Our room on higher floor had Hill view. The location of the hotel is very Far from the city centre. It is very near to Ocean Park and very convient for families spending time there.

The taxi are ararnged by staff very conviently in the level below lobby by the staff.

We have family in Aberdeen and thought that we should try this nearby hotel. It's modern, new and well appointment, it's unfortunate that the staff were almost all terrible. Check in at 2am was a slow and rude, check out was slow and stupid, no one offered to help with our luggage even though we were travelling with an infant. The suite layout was poorly designed and thought out. We had 2 rooms with 3 doors to access them, very silly. Lots of little niggling things, like the pool was closed for half of our visit with no warning or apology. Breakfast was well below average and the staff again were terrible. When my wife approached them they tried to walk the other way and ignore her!
Ultimately its a new hotel with good rooms, but the staff and layout are a hassle. If you can overlook rude an inept people and inconvenient design then this might be for you.

Room Tip: If you are getting a suite, ask for one that doesn't have 3 doors to access.
