“Over Rated and Not worth the wait”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

I visited the eatery in Jan and waited 2 hours and I would say overall is OVER RATED. I order about 20 dim sum dishes and our table is not even big enough to put the food. Food : Other then the char siew bun, th rest item is below average. Why the wait? The eatery can only sit 20+ ppl and the table is small, no comfort at all. They are moving to a bigger place soon. I would say there are alot of local "cha lou" and cheap dim sum place than this. Given there are so many choices in Hong Kong, I would not go back again.

“Truly a top Yum Cha destination”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

Amazing dumplings, up there in my top 5 places. Like previous reviewers, get there early to avoid the long long long queues. Barge your way to the front, grab a number, fill out a menu, a keep a keen eye on the number list as it slowly creeps towards your stomach, umm err table, which you will ultimately need to cosy up with 6-7 of your new best friends! And yes they do shoot the number s off quick in Mandarin, Cantonese, and occasionally English. To the dumplings; probably the best Char Sui Bao, fantastic filling and pastry that has to bad for you it's so good. Great Har Gau and Cheung Fan range and reasonable Siu Mai.
As a dining experience, seen to be experienced, but very polite ladies (all the guys seem to be the dumpling creators). 3 locations in Hong Kong; ICF mall, lower level on the island, Kowloon and the original in Mong Kok.
If you come to Hong Kong, got to Timmy's, you owe to your taste buds!

“Dumplings, dumplings, swimming in my belly~”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

Forget the crazy 4 hour lines at the original store in Mongkok, it only seats 4 tables. Instead, head to their 2nd store in Sham Shui Po which has abundant seating and still has amazing food. To increase your chances of securing a table, why not dim sum for dinner? It's non-traditional, so you are almost sure you're not competing with their local clients. Best spinach dumpling , fluffy, plump and full of flavor. Everything we ordered was cooked wonderfully, be warned that not all dim sum joints in HK is worth your time, but Tim Ho Wan was hands down, the best dim sum I've had. Needless to say, I left the restaurant in song.....dumplings, dumplings, swimming in my belly!

“A little treasure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

Went to the branch in Kwong Wa St. Queue depends on timing. Long queue right before it opens at 10am and during lunch and dinner. Went at 4pm and got a place pretty quickly (3rd in line if not mistaken). The guy who was giving numbers was very efficient and friendly too. Relatively good service considering that the staff in other eateries in HK tend to be rude and impatient.
Highly recommended to try the bbq pork bun, osmanthus flower jelly, sticky rice and shrimp dumpling.
Unfortunately the restaurant is moving out of the current strategic location at the end of January 2013. New location is Unit A, B, C, G72, Phase II, Olympian City, Hoi Ting Road, Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon

“Cheapest Michelin Star Dim Sum Restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

Luck to only wait for 15 min as I was alone for Lunch

Great food, ordered Baked bun with barbeque pork, Steamed pork dumplings with shrimp, Steamed fresh shrimp dumplings and petal Jelly .

Wonderful food, who cares about the size of the restaurant or the table and chair. You need to fill up the order form before you get a table, basically done to speed up the service of food.

Paid HK$ 71 for an amazing meal.
